Double Poof...

Maybe the tiebreaker should be the total points scored in say the Jacksonville-Kansas City game...

Or the number of total offensive yards in the Cleveland-Houston game...

The closest one to the total wins...

OK, everyone picks wrong, so everyone is back in (pending that none of the picks this week were duplicates...I have not checked that yet.)

So, all 3 of you are back in, and the teams you chose this week will count as USED. You each should have 16 teams left. For week 17 to break the tie, you need to post the remaining teams you have left, in order of confidence. We will go with everyone's first answer to start with, and try to determine a winner. If everyone is either right or wrong, we will move to your second pick to break that tie, and so on down the line for 16 teams.

Does that make sense? It may be Tuesday night before I check in again (it may not be, though.)

Here's the week 17 schedule:

SAt, Dec 30

N.Y. Giants at Washington 8:00 pm 125 124

Sunday, Dec. 31

Atlanta at Philadelphia 1:00 pm 147 123

Buffalo at Baltimore 1:00 pm 110 143

Carolina at New Orleans 1:00 pm 117 118

Cleveland at Houston 1:00 pm 130 119

Detroit at Dallas 1:00 pm 122 122

Green Bay at Chicago 1:00 pm 143 147

Jacksonville at Kansas City 1:00 pm 107 110

Miami at Indianapolis 1:00 pm 125 153

New England at Tennessee 1:00 pm 181

Oakland at N.Y. Jets 1:00 pm 144 144

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati 1:00 pm 146 146

Seattle at Tampa Bay 1:00 pm 158 158

St. Louis at Minnesota 1:00 pm 152 152

Arizona at San Diego 4:15 pm 125 123

San Francisco at Denver 4:15 pm 119 117

I realize that you're very likely going to be picking both sides of some of these games because of the way the chips fall with who you have left and who is playing this week. Just make sure you post your list in order of confidence and we'll work any tiebreakers that way.

Easier for me to post all picks here rather than create webpage:

Maybe it's not my own business, but I think it will be a good idea to add a second tie breaker in the case if 2 people are still equal with this first tie breaker... here's is a copy from Jose's post of last year explaining a 2nd tie breaker. Is it making sense??

TIEBREAKERS FOR WEEK 17 :

Survivors will play only the teams that haven't been used

The last week of the season you're going to use your pick for Week 17

Then you're gonna post the first tiebreaker, the team you think has the more possibilities to win also on Week 17 ( and you haven't played )... called " Team 18 "

Then you're gonna post the 2nd tiebreaker : " Team 19 "

Then you're gonna post the 3rd tiebreaker : " Team 20 "

Then you're gonna post the 4th tiebreaker : " Team 21 "

and so on.... you're going to continue posting tiebreakers until you run out of teams... you're going to use as many teams as possible

Survivors will start being eliminated as every tiebreaker is played, our pool will shrink until we have a winner

If after one of the tiebreakers everybody gets eliminated, then we'll use number of wins by your remaining teams as the last tiebreaker

Thanks, We will use this method -- but I'll bet my next 4 paychecks there won't be a tie with the 16 remaining lists.

Just to be clear, if all three go out at say the #5 tiebreaker, do we go to #6 and down the list through all 16 or go right to wins? The above makes it sound like we go right to total wins.Thanks.

We will go down through each tiebreaker one at a time (through all 16) until we have a winner (note that I'm counting everybody winning OR eveybody losing a Tie). If we're tied at #5, we look for the tiebreaker in #6. If #6 ties, then tiebreak is #7, and so on. If after 16 tiebreakers, we are still tied, then we'll move to wins.

Edit -- rereading that, if we make it through all 16 tiebreakers, everyone will have the same amount of wins and losses. Sigh. If, in the .001% chance that happens, I'll go back and caculate total points margin of victory over the course of the year to figure out the winner.

ACP,You did an admirable job this year, thanks again for all the time you put in. I love this contest and I look forward to next year. Whoever takes over has some big shoes to fill (as you, yourself, did). Here's hoping the Shark Pool Suicide Contest lives on with vigor... :banned:

wow, what a finish!

thanks very much ACP for running this - I've done it every year and don't think I ever made it past week 2. changed my strategy a bit this year, guess it paid off! normally it's picking houston that knocked me out in the past, this year they finally came through.

great job sooner and goon

Congrats dlux.

I guess send Joe a PM about your prize, we never really discussed how it would be handled.

Looks like either TC or teamramrod or a combo of both will be running this thing for '07.

Happy new year, jabronies.
