Shaun Alexander fake, repeat, FAKE "injury" (1 Viewer)

For some reason this commercial for Mobile ESPN with Shaun Alexander f'n cracks me up. It's playing all the time on ESPN right now, anyone else seen it? SA's one of the most gifted athletes on the planet, and plays one of the toughest sports, and he trips over his dog after squirting lemon into his eye. And then his ESPN phone makes the Sportscenter alert sound and there's John Clayton on video, seconds later, saying that "Shaun Alexander was injured in an off-field accident with his wiener dog and is questionable for the next game" or something like that. Shaun then looks around like "Who the hell's watching me?" Pretty funny.

Might hit a little too close to home for all you Alexander owners fearing the Madden curse, but between this commercial and the Reggie Bush FF draft one where he tricks his buddy out of taking LJ first, I'd say ESPN's on a nice roll using big name football players.

I agree...it's hilarious!I'm an Alexander owner and I spit in the face of the Madden Curse. I just don't beleive in that BS. OK, so a plastic video game cover has mystical powers over NFL injuries? Yea, ok! How out it's RARE for a player to play 16 games and NOT get some type of injury!!! I'd put $100 on ANY player that he'll get hurt at some point. Maybe he won't miss a game, but he'll get hurt. Any takers?Plus.........I drafted MO MO! Come on, it's just good practice!

Maybe Mobile ESPN, by actually SHOWING Alexander getting hurt, cancelled out the Madden curse. Kinda like, "Oh yeah? [grabs crotch] I got your 'curse' right here!"
