Sherman has caught two more balls than the receivers he has been guarding the last three games.

lol at comparing him to Patrick Peterson, who is an outstanding return man
Peterson is easily having his worst season as a pro.
True, but what did his best season look like?
It looked like the best man cover CB in the NFL.
When was that? He's never looked better than Sherman or a healthy Revis. He lacks their technique and knowledge, though he is a fantastic athlete.
He's way better than Sherman in man. Revis has been overrated for years. V. Davis is probably the best man cover guy this year.

You do realize Sherman plays man quite a bit? Seattle isn't all Cover 3. But again, you have no clue what you are talking about.

Funny. Peterson is no where near Sherman's level. Yes, Peterson is an amazing athlete and can do some awesome things on the field. He is not the consistent force that Sherman is in every single game. We were trying to tell you this but you wouldn't listen, maybe now you can start to realize how wrong you were.
No you were trying to, inaccurately, explain cover 3 and the base Sea D.
No, you attempted to ask some extremely vague questions in order to deflected from direct questions being asked of you. You tried to make the point that it was the rest of the defense/secondary that made Sherman better, specifically Thomas. When that didn't work, because you only have some basic understanding of what the Seahawks actually run on the field, you took your ball and went home. All of these was AFTER you proclaimed Peterson to be better than Sherman.

Regardless, you look like a clown with a grudge against Sherman. I get it, he is difficult to like as an opposing fan. But purposefully ignore his skill and respective place amongst CBs playing the game right now is just stupid.

Grudge against Shurman? I've said multiple times in this very thread he's an excellent player.
More emoticons, please, it lets us all know how not seriously you are taking this. The fact you came running to post this, says a lot.

You have given Sherm nothing but backhanded compliments throughout this thread, while at the same time completely ignoring "your boy" Peterson's short comings.

Have fun with your LOL's.

You still can't get it right. I just said Petrerson has had a poor year. Try again.

I see "Sherman isn't good in man" is the new "Sherman doesn't follow the best receiver"
I didn't say he wast good in man.
Just a quick question, what do you think of Peterson's skills in man coverage? If you think they are above average, how to you explain the fact that he routinely gets LIT up?

Deflect, deflect, deflect. This thread wasn't just about this year. But despite that, even saying Peterson has had a poor year is under playing it. Peterson has been terrible, and just signed a ridiculous contract that he won't be able to match on the field. The writing was on the wall, yet you didn't want to read it.

I am happy to have a guy like Sherman on the team, and I would go so far as to say I like his attitude. The stuff that doesn't get mentioned in threads like these, are all the times Sherman goes out of his way to show respect to other players and teams. People just don't seem to get that the large majority of Sherman's targets took a shot at Sherman in one way or another. Granted, maybe he should take the high road and keep his mouth shut -- that is one way of doing things. Sherman's way has gotten results, in the form of great on the field play, a new contract, public recognition, etc. Ultimately, all the people that talk negatively about Sherman are just drawing more attention to him, which is what he wants because he thrives on it.

Just saw the Costas interview on Sunday night football. One of the most unlikeable athletes I can ever remember. He had every opportunity to soften his public image and smooth over some of his past mistakes, but all he did was stubbornly double down with even harsher rhetoric. Starting to think he's not as smart as he thinks he is.

Seems to work just fine for him. He's got tons of endorsement deals and playing at the top of his game.

At least he's as good as he thinks he is.
Oh he's definitely good. Great actually. Maybe the best. I always wonder with him how much of his greatness is due to the enormous chip on his shoulder that seems to motivate him.

Truth is Sherman probably is the best CB in the NFL right now. The only reason I say "probably" is because I'm clinging to hope that some statistic or measurement will show someone else is better. Why do I hope for such a metric? Because Sherman is a grade "A" d-bag. And why is he a grade "A" d-bag? Because in interviews like the one tonight he says things like - people can't judge me from what they see me say on TV. Guess what d-bag, I sure as hell can. You're words weren't misconstrued or taken out out context. You choose to get in front of cameras you know are being broadcast to millions of people and make an ### out of yourself. You may do wonderfully charitable things off camera, but so do other famous athletes who aren't d-bags. I get doses of other famous athletes who I don't know off the field but the difference between them and you is that they don't say things like...

"You suck. You so weak. You're a waste of my time." — to Joe Webb, during a game.

"What you gonna do boy?" — to Trent Williams, before getting slapped in the face.

"U MAD BRO?" — Sherman to Tom Brady after beating him in 2012.

"When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree that's the result you're going to get. Don't you ever talk about me." — Sherman after the NFC title game.

"Ur name will be irrelevant once u step back on the field bruh. Get ya picks up!" — to Darrelle Revis.

I'm sure similar things have been said by other players who are universally liked. The difference is they weren't attention whores who actually were so full of themselves that they thought saying these things for the world to hear would be received positively.

The reason I question his true intelligence is because if he would just shut up he no doubt would be overwhelmingly considered the best at his position. Instead people look for every excuse and reason to debate that someone else is better.

Honestly, I dont know why people hate trash talk in games. Most of us trash talk in fantasy football games to our buddies. It isnt that big of a deal. If it gets him pumped up for the game or he thinks he can gain a psychological advantage from it, so be it. These guys are beating the crap outta each other for a living, a few words aint gonna hurt them.

The emotional scarring the guys Sherman said those things to must be deep.

Especially that "U MAD BRO" to Brady. He must've cried himself to sleep that night over that comment.

I believe that HE thinks he's the best CB in football. And I also believe that he could give a $#!@ what anyone else thinks.

Actually what he claims to have said to Brady is

"Me and Earl walked up to him and said, 'We're greater than you. We're better than you. You're just a man -- we're a team.' That's the Brady Bunch; this is a defense. "

It's funny how when he talks to a relative nobody like Skip Bayless, he wants to harp on his individual accomplishments "Address me as all-pro, Stanford graduate..." but when he's talking to Brady - the holder a few All-pros himself, and some MVPs, and a Superbowl ring or three - he doesn't want to go there. Almost like no matter who he's talking to he's better than them. He's a hell of a player, but a total narcissist.

"At the end of the day, I'm pretty happy with the man I see in the mirror. I know who I am and what I'm about. People that know me also know who I am and what I'm about. People who don't know me, judge me off what they see on the field or in interviews -- I really could care as much about their opinion as the dirt under my shoe right now."

-Sherman

Sherman brought up a great the point the other day about how the NFL threatened to eject Lynch from the NFC championship game if he wore gold shoes which has no effect on the game at all but they aren't going to have any immediate action against NE for what they did.

I would agree regarding the "immediate action".

How could the league impose "immediate action" against the Patriots? And what would it be? "ring ring........Hey Colts, you are in the Super Bowl"????

With Lynch they knew he was purposely doing something right then and there, with the Pats they did not, and still don;t know exactly what happened. Even if they did, even if BB came out and said he ordered the Code Red, what on Earth would the penalty be right NOW??? It certainly would not be anything to do with the Super Bowl for billions of reasons.

Stupid thing to say, kinda, but Shermy stickin up for his guy while putting down the competition. That's Shermy.

If you and your brother get in a bar fight do you side with the other guys if your brother started it?? Hells nah

So this means you think the league should take immediate action vs the pats then right? Just curious, WHAT action should they take right NOW?

NFL threatened a possible Super Bowl suspension too over Lynch's shoes but BB and NE won't face any suspension for the SB even though ignorance isn't an excuse in Goodell's book. Double standard.

So BB and Brady should be suspended for the super bowl, even though there is zero evidence whatsoever either of the knew or did anything.

Makes sense

Yes. If they'll suspend Lynch over shoes then it should be at least that for actually cheating.

Ignorance isn't an excuse according to Goodell. But it's NE so it's different.Edit: Brady shouldn't be suspended unless there is proof but BB yes.
