Sherman is a tool (1 Viewer)

Do you think Sherman is upset at all by any of this?? Nope. I don't hear him complaining about it.
Lol...complaining about it would be even dooshier than the smack he talks. Dude got a dose of humble pie, and has hopefully learned to tone it down a bit. The best thing to come out of the loss is the fact that we shouldn't be getting any more of those horrible soup commercials. I mean, those were really really bad.

He does TERRIBLE commercials - all of them. But I don't see where he is eating humble pie. Despite strained ligaments in his elbow, they threw at him exactly 1 time and it was a pass behind the line of scrimmage where he had to come all the way across with Edleman in motion and the pass was behind the line of scrimmage where he missed the tackle on Edleman. The only guy on that defense that should have trouble looking in the mirror is Deshawn Shead.

His face when the interception happens looks as if he just ate moldy humble pie to me.

Richard Sherman To Seattle Radio Host: "I'll Ruin Your Career"

Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman was caught on tape Tuesday telling a local reporter that he would ruin his career.

As reported by the Seattle Times during Sherman’s media availability on Tuesdaylocal radio show host Jim Moore asked the cornerback about his criticism of the team’s play calling last week. (Sherman was visibly upset in the third quarter, screaming at offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, when the Seahawks threw the ball from the 1-yard line instead of running it.) Moore asked Sherman if he thought he had a “better handle” than the coaching staff on the team’s play calling.

Sherman responded, “No, I just had a, we had a prior experience (the Super Bowl) so we talked about it. But let me guess—you have a better play to call. Let me guess, you have a better experience.”

Moore, a talk show host on ESPN 710 Seattle, said no. Sherman replied with, “Then you should probably kind of stop.”

When Sherman was exiting the room after the press conference had ended, he passed Moore’s seat and told him, “You don’t want to go there. You do not. I’ll ruin your career.”

Moore asked for clarification—“You’ll ruin my career? How are you going to do that?”—and Sherman doubled down: “I’ll make sure you don’t get your media pass anymore.”

They had one final exchange, with Moore asking “Is that right?” and Sherman responding “Yes, it is.” The Times released a partial recording of the incident, in which Sherman can clearly be heard saying that he’ll ruin Moore’s career

He's one of those Dbags that goes beyond "if he's on the team you root for you love him".  I can't picture rooting for Sherman if he were with the Saints.  He'd just be a Dbag that's along for the ride.  Suh is the same kind of guy.

Richard Sherman apologizes for threatening to 'ruin' journalist's career

From twitter:

I appreciate the role the media plays and they have a tough job. I let it get personal today and I regret that. Next one should be fun

— Richard Sherman (@RSherman_25) December 21, 2016

He also made light of his threatening to have Moore’s credentials removed.

#Petesaididontcontrolcredentials ????

Everyone makes mistakes folks.  You can say you wouldn't like him even if he were on your team, but you'd only be lying to yourself.  Not saying I thought this was right in the first place--actually I'm just glad he apologized.

I didn't see an apology there. I didn't see the words "sorry" or "apology" appear there. He regrets that it got personal. That's it. He didn't apologize for threatening to ruin a guy's career.

I also saw him make light of it seconds later.

LOL emoji and hashtags about how the coach explained to him that he had no control over the press passes, and thus, his ability to ruin this guy's career. Tee hee, isn't that funny?? Crying emoji from laughing so hard!!!!!

And obviously all that "apology" business came only he knew his idiocy had been taken public.  Embarrassing.

Yah, the important thing is to give him props for apologizing, after threatening to ruin someone's career.

Good for you Sherman!! Way to go!  Way to man up!  What a guy!

Not a huge fan of Sherman talking out his rear - this is what happens when a player gets a little too big for his britches. It comes back to haunt ya.

But you know what? Happy to take this over players taking a switch to their kids, knocking their wife unconscious in an elevator, full force punching a chick in the head and likely still being a top draft pick, hell, even obvious attempts at ending another player's season or career with cheap shots, than this kind of mouthiness any day.

There are bigger things to get upset about, IMHO.

Surprising since he went to Stanford...he's real smart because he went to Stanford...did you know Richard Sherman went to Stanford?

What Sherman said was definitely on the douchey side.  But I'll just say this, players these days live under a microscope that none of us can begin to comprehend and I bet it gets real tiring always answering questions about your life, play on the field and a bazillion other things.  None of us know what it's like to have to live like that and as a person who makes mistakes, It's become really discouraging to see how easy everyone just piles on these guys when they say something that's not perfect.  Its sort of the media's job to poke the bear and I think we all need to stop judging these players every time they fail to meet the perfect standards we expect from them.  We all need to stop judging each other.

No, it wasn't ''on the douchey side.''  A few years ago, when a reporter asked Sherman if he was the best CB in the league, and Sherman said he didn't answer 2nd grade questions?  THAT was on the douchey side.  On the douchey side is pretty harmless, right?

That's not what happened here.  Sherman wasn't ''judged'' and frankly, Sherman has gotten the benefit of the doubt, and very nice handling by the media since he got to the NFL.

From the story above, here's the exchange:

Here’s how the exchange went: Moore asked Sherman about his calling out the Seahawks’ play call of throwing the ball from the Los Angeles 1-yard line on Thursday — a situation that bore resemblance to the Seahawks’ failed Super Bowl play against the New England Patriots. That’s when the Sherman-Moore chat got off track.

Sherman: “No, we’ve just had a prior experience so we talked about it. But let me guess, you have a better play call. Let me guess, you have better experience.”

Moore: “No, I don’t have better experience.”

Sherman: “Then you should probably, you know, stop.”

It appeared over at that point. But after Sherman’s press conference, Sherman went back after Moore.

Sherman: “You don’t want to go there. You do not. I’ll ruin your career.”

Moore: “You’ll ruin my career?”

Sherman: “Yes. Yes, I will.”

Moore: “How are you going to do that?”

Sherman: “I’ll make sure you don’t get your media pass anymore.”

Moore: “Oh, is that right?”

Sherman: “Yes. Yes it is.”

The above is the behavior of an awful person.  Period.  He clarified and re-asserted his intention to ruin a guy's career, because the guy asked a question that any reporter would ask.

Sherman has shown himself to be quite the d-bag for a while now.  I am sure he is not the first player to say something like this to a reporter, but the fact that he was joking about later on twitter after his non-apologetic apology just shows how arrogant he has become.

The Stephen A. Smith comment about it on ESPN is classic.    Video at top

It's 1:17 long, and it's 45 seconds of him saying what Sherman thought about the reporter in question (with no examples of this reporters bad behavior), and then 20 seconds of him saying it doesn't excuse Sherman's behavior, and Sherman admitting he needed to be better than that.

Unless this reporter was really being obnoxious, Sherman's behavior is completely unacceptable.  The fact that this reporter's behavior was completely harmless means his behavior shouldn't even be mentioned.

Let alone windy speeches about the pressure and microscope, and blah blah freaking blah

I wouldn't like him even if he were on the team I pull for, and I wouldn't be lying to myself.

You gotta appreciate him threatening to ruin someone's career while so many wide receivers are doing just that to him on the field these days.

I have always liked Sherman....liked the Crabtree incident.   To say you are going to ruin a persons career means now that he has a very inflated self worth. In the NFL you are only play away, or one bad season away from your own career being ruined.

I don't see the apology. I see where he said he regrets what he said. That isn't an apology.

It does make me appreciate the guys that can keep their cool and stay out of trouble.

It also reminds me why I try to keep out of the public spotlight.  I was going to sign up for Survivor one year, and someone said "think about everything you've ever done in your life.  If there's any piece of that you're not comfortable with exposing to the world, don't do it."

There's a lot of bad hombres in the NFL that I'd grudgingly root for personally if they were transplanted to the team I root for.  OBJ is the perfect example of guy that's right on the tippy toe of that line.  Dez is kind of in that boat too.  But there's a handful of players that just repulse me beyond the pale.  Sherman, Suh, Pacman, Incognito...guys like that.  No way you see me at the Superdome sporting a Richard Sherman jersey if he's playing for the Saints (and to be fair, Sherman gives absolutely zero F's that I feel that way).

Dennis Rodman of the NFL?  Rodman without question was someone everyone hated when he was playing against you, but all his stupid flopping and antics were a tiny bit more tolerable if it was on your team. Also like Sherman, Rodman was good at what he did and he played hard, nobody ever expected him to score but his D and rebounding was great.

Seahawks looking to emulate the Patriots where they would prefer to risk getting rid of a player one year too early rather than one year too late?

Why is SEA looking to trade him?
They aren't.  But just like in dynasty leagues you probably play in, anyone is available for the right price.  There's nobody that's going to pay that price needed, but anyone should be available on any roster.

But given that they are low on CBs entering the 2017 season I would think the price has to be extremely high.

Dude, as a long time Piston fan, have tons of respect for Rodman giving his background/upbringing and how he singlehandedly won games with his tenacious rebounding on both sides of the ball.

But you chose the wrong player as an example. It was Bill Laimbeer who epitomized the guy you hated when he played against you but loved when he was on your team. And Laimbeer has a much more parallel work ethic to Sherman.

An NFL corollary would be Bill Romanowski.

Geez, if they aren't looking to trade him, what does it look like when they DO want to trade someone?

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the Seahawks are not just fielding calls on Richard Sherman, and have "initiated trade talks."
Per Fowler, the talks have "ranged from fact-finding to more serious discussions." Fowler reports "multiple people in the league have concluded" acquiring Sherman would likely require parting with a high draft pick. The Miami Herald has reported it would take both a high pick and "very good player." The Seahawks are wise to set an initial high price, but seem more eager to move Sherman than they've been letting on. A divorce could be becoming inevitable.
