Shockey now riding in the backseat ? (1 Viewer)

Is it me or does it seem that the TE torch has been passed to the kid from Western Oregon? Kevin Boss has looked great since replacing #80 & his injury (one of a long string I may add). This big fella can block and his receiving skills are above avg. plus he fits in well with that Offense. By the by, why was Shockey up in a luxury box last night instead of being with his team down on the field in the biggest game of his life ? Yep, it surely appears the brash boy from the "U" knows his days are numbered !

I don't remember when Shockey got hurt but the Giants seemed to start playing better after he was sidelined.

The over-rated bum should be, I explained it here:

Then got ridiculed for me perfect analysis. So I taunted with a fish. The Giants should ship Shockey down to the Dolphins. He will be down there anyway doing whatever he does in the off-season as Boss and Eli workout. If I had room on my super Dynasty team, I would grab Boss as my #2 but I am chalk full o' superstars at the TE position. Every position for that matter.

Arrrrrr... then got ridiculed for me perfect analysis.

I don't think Eli's improvement had as much to do with getting Boss or losing Shockey as it did with getting Steve Smith healthy, which happened about week 15 or so.

It's Shockey's job next year no question, though they will probably run more 2 TE sets now that they can trust Boss.

Shockey seems like a good buy-low in dynasty leagues.

With all the comments I heard about how the locker room became a much better place without Shockey, he'd be gone if I were GM. He might have some trade value.

Shipping him to the Dolphins would be hilarious - didn't he call Parcells a homo a year or two ago?

How "low" do you think he is? Unless the team both keeps Shockey and names Boss the starter (a ridiculous proposition), I think Shockey will command a price befitting a top 5-7 FF TE. The problem is that if he remains on the Giants and Boss starts to take some catches from him (not a ridiculous proposition) you will have overpaid.

Your analysis was flawed as was pointed out. This is cominmg from someone who has been fed-up with Shockey always being banged up.First, I have been VERY pleased with Boss, but he does not block as well as Shockey. My buddy and I went back and watched the Giants game from the season and Shockey is a lot more explosive than Boss, but made more mistakes this year. I think all of Shockey's banged up injuries have taken their toll on his body, but he is an absolute gamer and not even close to a prima dona that you talked about.

Shockey won't be going anywhere at his contract value and the two should be very effective.

BTW, Boss' blocking is NOT good. But he can improve that hopefully.

Steve Smith getting healthy helped and I think that the OL pass protecting better was a huge factor. Earlier in the year Eli was getting hammered

"me perfect.""chalk full"

Plus the ridiculous bragging in the last sentence.

This is awesome.

:coffee: Steve Smith + Kevin Boss + an Eli that actually seemed to have his head in the games > Shockey.

However,

Smith + Shockey + Boss + Eli continuing to improve = NFC #1 seed next year and a possible repeat SB victory.

Shockey may not be a top 5 again, although he certainly could be, but he will not be losing the starting gig. FWIW, if they can trade him to improve the secondary (picks or player), they could do it.
