Shockey Out 3-6 weeks..... (1 Viewer)

As a New Yorker and life long Giants I will try and be mature as possible in this situation and just go with a "HA HA" as I point and laugh at Saints fans.

All kidding aside yes... the guy is the definition of injury prone. We all learned to expect him to miss at least 4-5 weeks a year. New Orleans hasn't dealt with his ankle yet, just wait until that flares up. Good luck.

Would Lance Moore be a sleeper pick that contributes until Colston & Shockey come back?
Maybe if you are in a PPR league.. standard i think meachem is the guy to have. If I were you I wouldn't start playing with NO receivers, reggie bush is the primary receiver on the team then you have just a whole mix of guys... patten, henderson, meachem, moore... all get just about the same playing time.

I waived him so put me down as a "no". :boxing:

Those "missed time" estimates are almost always closer to the big number than the small one. Couple that with underwhelming numbers (aside from Week 3, go figure) and I considered him more or less interchangeable with my FA options. I grabbed Daniels so I have no bye week issues now at the TE position and I hate to carry more than one player at that position.

Any theories why Brees locked in on L Moore and Bush as his primary targets? Meachem and Henderson seem more like long shot long ball receivers based on this single data point. I guess everybody wants to know:- Billy Miller or Campbell?- Lance More or Meachem/Henderson

any new info about the length of time he'll miss or type of surgury Shockey underwent?
Yes. From the Times-Picayune on 9/26: "SHOCKEY SUCCESS: Shockey was back at the Saints' facility in Metairie on Thursday and seemed optimistic about a surgical procedure he had Tuesday for what was thought to be a sports hernia. "They called it a sports hernia because it was in that general area," said Shockey, who added that the surgery was a success. "But there was no protrusion, so it was even better than they thought."Seems like good news for Shockey owners.

Nice. Thanks for the info. Maybe it will be closer to the 3 weeks then.....I'm hanging on until I here something other than this.

(Rotoworld) Coach Sean Payton said Friday that he's hopeful Jeremy Shockey (groin) can return in time for the Saints' Week 6 game.

Analysis: Shockey didn't have a sports hernia, despite several reports he did, and a Week 6 return would put his recovery time at three weeks. Payton says Shockey feels "comfortable" already. New Orleans hosts Oakland in Week 6.
