Just listening to Mike and Mad Dog and apparently Shockey had a big blow up with Reese. Coughlin apparently said that there hasn't been a change in Shockey's mental state. Mike will probably continue to talk about this as apparently it just broke but they went to commercial.

Looks like Shockey is trying to get himself a 1st class ticket out of town.

Hey, I'm just speaking from an unbiased standpoint. If the Giants know what's good for them, they'll find a way to unload this headcase...quick!Personally speaking, I think it's coming sooner than most think at this point. I don't see him being a Giant for much longer.

As a Giant homer and fan of shockey... i feel the same way as Andy... our club has come together quite nicely over the past season especially at the end and in all fairness he wasn't there. I think he is more bitter then anything that he wanted to be one of the pieces of the puzzle for so long and put his heart into it and the fact that he wasn't one of the key heroes just hurts him... he's a very talented player and he has the heart of a lion like losing his helmet and ducking his head for contact to get extra yards. Nobody is happy about this but if this continues they have no choice but to ship him out... their fully behind Manning at this point and everybody is agreeing that it's his team now regardless of the past... Shockey was never one to fall in line and was always very animated during games and when it was okay to scrutinize manning he was the first one throwing his hands up during games and shaking his head basically expressing to everybody that it was purely Mannings fault for whatever transpired during the play.

It's no longer ok to do that within the Giants organization because Manning has now proved himself to be worth his price.. it's also no longer shockey's team, and this hurts considering he watched somebody grab the reigns and there was nothing he can do about it... I completely understand his frustration but he's going about it all wrong. He was always a semi-selfish player and I think between the way the Giants treated him during his injury and the way they acted like they can fill the void (TO syndrome) he lost it. His name was barely mentioned during the playoff run he just kind of faded away for the time being and that really struck a cord considering he has a huge ego. He basically had a reality check that the Giants can exist and that hurt.

I have little doubt he's headed out of town. Seems pretty clear he's not happy there and he's just going to be a distraction in order to get traded. None of this is really surprising because he's a baby who is going to cry until he gets his way, but he has no leverage after the team won the SB without him. He's a very talented TE, but I doubt he'll ever live up to his potential due to his attitude - and I'm a Shockey owner.

His stats don't relate to Great. In 6 years he has averaged around 700 yards per season and around 4.5 TDs. You must be talking about the intangibles. I would rate him as Good.

Exactly. Huge Giants fan here... but take away Shockey's negative effect in the locker room and shockey is far from great. he drops WAY too many passes. he causes ruckus when he doesnt get the ball, showing up teamates. He has some speed and can make good catches.When he is healthy, he is very good.BUT he is never healthy. So he is ok to good for the most part. He isnt that valuable although again, when healthy, he blocks very well and is a weapon (albeit inconsistent).
