I'm wondering what the shark pool's opinions are on Shonn Greene the rest of the season. Some people dropped him weeks ago, and others eagerly gathered him up. Let's hear your thoughts...
LT is on pace for 1.400 yds & 10 TdLT is a better running back and will continue to get the majority of touches. Greene is a handcuff and desperation bye week filler only.
LT has spent his career making NFL history. Certainly the point stands that he is a risk to breakdown, so Greene owners should not cut bait if they can afford the roster spot, but let us not pretend that it is inevitable that LT gets hurt and Greene becomes a starting fantasy RB again. Use your eyes - LT looks almost as good as he did a few years ago. You do not need to go that far back to see an example of a 30+ RB putting up great numbers while in the very same uniform; Curtis Martin can do it, I would not want to bet against LT doing it as well.Regards,LT is on pace for 1.400 yds & 10 TdLT is a better running back and will continue to get the majority of touches. coolHe was part of my Randy Moss package last week and will alternate in my RB2 spot.
I am surprised you are still allowed to post here despite spamming posters' inboxes trying to steal people to go to your forum. I reported you to a moderator, but apparently nobody is awake at the wheel. I will report you again as I do not believe it is appropriate behavior to post at a forum while trying to steal business from it.Regards,THE FANTASY KINGAs long as the Jets o-line keeps up their good work he'll be fine. Anyone could run through the holes they open up.
How many 31 year old future Hall of Fame RBs were the clear starter on a team with a good offensive line? Let's start with Thomas Jones, last year on the team Tomlinson is now playing for. 1402 rushing yards, 14 TDs.LT is on pace for 1.400 yds & 10 TdLT is a better running back and will continue to get the majority of touches. Greene is a handcuff and desperation bye week filler only.

LT is looking fantastic and is unquestionably the best RB on the team, but what does Rex Ryan do? Ride him into the ground from here on out, or does he make a conscious effort to balance the load? I think a healthy, moderately rested LT2 for the playoffs is very high on Ryan's list of objectives for a Super Bowl run, and I'm kind of bullish on Greene for the remainder of the regular season. Gravy alone makes Greene a keeper even in redrafts.LT has spent his career making NFL history. THE FANTASY KING
The load is being balanced; Tomlinson has 76 carries to Greene's 62. That pencils out to 243 for LT and 198 for Greene. About as split as it gets.LT is looking fantastic and is unquestionably the best RB on the team, but what does Rex Ryan do? /ThreadHe is still a backup RB. Just because he found daylight on one of his 10 carries and scampered in for a 20+ yard touchdown does not change that fact. LT received the lion's share of the work, and until/unless he breaks down, that will not change.Sell high if you can in redraft. Hold in dynasty.Regards,THE FANTASY KING
He's almost hawk likeAs usual, THE FANTASY KING is absolutely correct.

Greene will continue to get carries. He'll continue to do not much with them. He's just not a very good RB.Poll results beg to differ. The load is being balanced; Tomlinson has 76 carries to Greene's 62. That pencils out to 243 for LT and 198 for Greene. Clearly LT was the starter this past week. He took the 1st 2 drives of the 1st quarter and Greene saw more action when the Jets were building their lead at 6-0, 9-0, 12-0, 15-0...if the Jets are ahead yes Greene gets more touches but he ran for a touchdown late in the game which seriously skewed his numbers, he wasn't running buck wild like LT was or flipping mid air 360s as he blew past the linebackers and into the secondary.Your point is valid but LT is not competing with Greene for playing time right now. The Jets are being smart about not over using LT but he seems to be getting better and better every week. Thread title is flex, and I think if you feel the Jets are going against a soft defense and they have a chance to be up 14 in the 2nd half, then Greene could be a solid option but i think at one point in the 3rd quarter he only had about 30 something yards vs about 80 LT had racked up.The load is being balanced; Tomlinson has 76 carries to Greene's 62. Keep hatin' palLet's see who'll get the last laughGreene will continue to get carries. He'll continue to do not much with them. He's just not a very good RB.
Agreed. And LT has some miles. He is one LT injury away from being a top 5 RB
Absolutely correct here. The Vikings did it all night. You can actually see the 8th man walk into the box when Shonn Greene is in the game. They stack it. And then Greene still gets his yards. The playcalling is so predictable when Greene is in the game, I'm surprised he's able to average more than 2 yards per carry. Defenses know what's coming : handoff to Greene, who will run between the tackles. Usually to the side where the WR (Edwards) is motioning towards.
fair points, but...in each of the 2008 and 2009 seasons, LT failed to reach 4.0 yards ( or more) per carry in games 8-17 - source Data Dominator...How many 31 year old future Hall of Fame RBs were the clear starter on a team with a good offensive line? Curtis Martin went for 1697 yards and 12 TDs in 2004.
Emmitt Smith had 1203 and 9 in 2000.
John Riggins had 1347 and 24 TDs in 1983, and 1239 and 14 TDs in 1984.
Walter Payton had 1551 and 9 TDs in 1985, and 1333 and 8 in 1986.
So where does LT fit in on that list? Above everyone except possibly Payton. Certainly several orders of magnitude above Thomas Jones.
So let me turn the question around: What possible reason do you have to believe that Thomas Jones at 31 on the Jets will outperform Ladanian Tomlinson at 31 on the Jets?
How many career Tomlinson-Like RB's have there been in that study?LT is on pace for 1.400 yds & 10 TdLT is a better running back and will continue to get the majority of touches. Greene is a handcuff and desperation bye week filler only.

I'll second these thoughts... from what I've seen, in a close ball game LT II is the clear cut feature back only getting "spelled" by Greene. In a NYJ romp however, Greene gets the 2nd half carries and they save LT II for bigger battles ahead. IMO this is the only reason that these two backs appear to split carries based on YTD stats.Trade Greene to the LT II owner in your league. He will have solid games when the Jets jump out to a big lead early, but LT is looking like a rocket out there and I don't see how he changes things without injury.
And McGahee and Stewart and so on and so on.Hold on to that hope everyone.LT is the man there. Plain as day.He is one LT injury away from being a top 5 RB

looking at his road stats ( i.e., games in cold weather stadiums) he was dreadful. We all remember the sight of LT on the sideline in the playoff game(s) riding a stationary bike..does he have a problem playing in cold weather or what?
I'm not trying to predict injury or doom for LT, but unless/until he proves he can and will play in 20 degree weather I'll go with Shonn Greene as the Jets' RB to own in November and December..
