Opinions?

Lost Manning - just got offered Rivers & Greene for AP. Is it always gonna be 3-plays-and-LT-goes-in-if-u-dont-do-nothin with Shonn & the Jets?

I'd wait for him to have a huge game, and sell high.Greene is a bust..and the Jets will struggle to run the ball, all season long..get used to it. they couldn't run well last season for whatever reason..does it have something to do with Shottenheimer's play calling? I think so..watching Jets games you never get the feeling that B. Shottenheimer is outcoaching the defensive coordinator , you always find yourself yelling at the TV saying 'run the #### ball!' Shottenheimer is decent but sometimes he seems to get to cute with play calling instead of allowing that awesome O-line and big Shonn Greene to do the damage, opting instead to go with Sanchez' arm to win games.

Wait & see for me. According to a couple Jags homers here, they're run D is actually very stout this year, so I'm not expecting much production from Greene. Still, I'll be very worried if he doesn't at least have, say, 18 touches week 2. I need to see Rex use "ground & pound" this week to have any good feelings about Greene.

I'd want to see your other QB to know how much of an upgrade Rivers would be as well as ppr/non-ppr, but my initial thought is to do the deal. AP's outlook isn't all roses either with minimal support from the passing game. I think he's a special player who's in for a very non-special season himself.

Jets were 2nd in rush attempts and 4th in rushing yards last season.

My backups to PMan (this is a slow draft - no-PPR - i'm in every yr which begins a redraft for the next season the minute the Super Bowl ends, so this was even b4 the lockout & i wasn't very concerned with replacing a guy who'd never missed a game) are Henne and Dalton. I HATE doing a season with inferior QBs more than any other position so, as soon as i hear back on an AP-for-Ryan/Mendy offer - like the balance there just a little better - i have out, i'm accepting this offer. Still have big doubts on Shonn but the consensus seems to be that he'll have a reasonably good season. Thx -

The Jets O line is not as good as it was. Greene will have some nice games, but few 100+ yarders. No, the Jets won't throw as much as they did against Dallas, but ground and pound isn't the MO anymore. The Jets didn't open many running lanes for Grene against Dallas. The O line just isn't what it was. Still, he is likely to get most of the GL carries.

I think Greene is a high end RB3 or a low end RB2. On the cusp. The Jets usually come out of the 1st quarter behind or tied up. Greene will have his best games if the Jets have a lead in the second half, but I don't know how often that is going to happen. On those weeks, he'll give you great RB2 numbers. Otherwise, expect more of what he did against Dallas.

Rushing TDs were certainly a disappointment though:L.T. = 6Sanchez = 3Greene = 2Of course we're only one game into the season, but Greene still looks average to me. He just doesn't seem like the kind of guy who is capable of blowing up for big FF points in any given week, even against a weak team. I say this as a Greene owner in a dynasty format, so I'm not simply knocking the guy for fun. I'd love for him to step it up this year, I'm just not optimistic about it actually happening.

That is a horrible trade. Add Fitz or Cam or Grossman off the waiver wire and stay far away from Greene.
We draft 23 and dont open FA pool til after wk 1 - most of the point of the league (drafting in Feb) being to determine who best judges the offseason. Dalton was the best left out there (well, someone paid $40 for Grossman today, who i wouldnt roster on a bet anyway), i assure you & i got him for Henne's backup.

You're doing this wrong. You can't bust the OP's chops if someone actually asks him about his team...for answering.

Hey Wikkid.

I think you will be fine with the trade.

I know how you like your star QBs so take Rivers so you don't have to worry about it the rest of the year.

I expect Greene to come around. The main problem in the opener was that the Jets were not true to their own identity and they never really TRIED to run it consistently and get into the flow of a running game. My gut says that because it was Rob Ryan, that they tried to give a wrinkle they thought would work (rex knows what his brother does best). But after this week and after Sanchez getting knocked around as much as he did, I guarantee there was a Monday morning meeting that went something like "If we want to keep Sanchez upright all year, we better get back to running." They don't want him hit that much and they don't want to wear down LT early. They DO want to utilize Keller in play action so they are going to run more adn Shonn will come around.

Also, I agree with the above person who said it looks like a less than AP-like year. He is awesome; we all know that. But there is just so much you can do with what they have going in the rest of the team.. Add that to two games with the Packers and Lions and Bears (oh my!), and I think Peterson falls short of his own standards this year. Still better than Greene likely, but nothing else you have is close to Rivers.

Take it and enjoy!
