Shooting In Harford County, Maryland (1 Viewer)

at least it looks- or at least LE is saying that this was a targeted attack; it's not some guy on a continued random shooting rampage (and still not caught per last look). hopefully.

I'm sad even feeling relieved that that's the case. :(

Have a sneaking suspicion this won't get much play by the mainstream media. Thoughts with those who've been impacted :(

Still on the loose and now linked to another shooting

Police later linked Prince to a second shooting in Wilmington, Del., located about 55 miles away, though the circumstances of that incident were not immediately known. The Delaware shooting took place on the 2800 block of Northeast Boulevard in Wilmington, FOX 29 reported.

Multiple dead. Shot, lives extinguished, families torn apart.

We have at the same time become immune, while we simply don't seem to even care anymore. Not we FBGs... hell, this hardly raised a blip for me. Until I realized.

As a nation, let's just admit that we don't care about 30,000+ lives extinguished every year at the wrong end of a bullet, a gun, and someone all too easily pulling the trigger.

We still care, GB. It's just...a host of things.

My sister spent lots of time in that shop this summer, they did her kitchen. Great people she says.

This was right down the street from my brother’s office. He got a text from his dispatcher saying everything was on lockdown and to not come back to the office.  Was total chaos.

Hate to say it but it's a black guy with a handgun. If it was a white guy with an Assault Rifle IMO the media would be all over it as a spree shooting. I don't know if it is due to an agenda by the media, of it's a sad assumption that black crime is common but white crime is newsworthy? I don't know but it's hard to ignore. I do feel confident that weapon type played a role in the coverage here. Which sucks... as the vast majority of people killed via gun violence are via handgun.

Dude had 15 prior felony convictions. WTF is he doing a free man?
No joke. I'm curious where he got the pistol as it wasn't through legal channels.

Wasn't a comment about race but you make a valid point.

This just reinforces my view, as someone that wants to PROTECT gun ownership rights, that our system is just so ####ed up.

And on this and seemingly many issues, we've become so jaded and distant from the realities.

I mean, people rallied like madd around stopping drunk driving and call out other epidemics. But gun violence, be it mass shootings and the "lone white male wolf" killers or black on black violence and everything in between like this, we just don't really seem to care.

Its crazy.  Just emoting here, kinda at a loss.

Local news saying they've caught him.
Dude was caught 5mins down the road from us.  That's 2 shooting incidents this year that was far too close to home.  And we live in quiet little suburbia.

The first one was insane - kid shoots a cop in the head at Wawa and then holes up in his house for like 12 hours and has a shootout with police.  It was only a few houses down from a friend's house in Middletown.

:sadbanana:

So this total loser had a rap sheet a mile long. If you want to stop losers like this then we need a real 3 strikes and you are out law and when I say out, I mean out. I really don't know why we keep trash like this around.

Its already off front page news.  You have to kill more than 3 people to stay relevant in today's news cycle.  We can't expect people to get because a cause that the media wont push.

this guy sounds like he was a bomb waiting to go off.

that said- I have a friend from HS I learned is now serving 25 to life for $3k credit card fraud as his third strike. 1st strike was statutory rape- was a year or two out of HS dating a girl in HS. parents didn't like that he was black and wanted their relationship done, so called the cops.

I have no idea what his 2nd strike was, but considering he's now serving 25 to life (after already serving time for the previous "crime") I honestly can't imagine anything outside of murder-which he'd never have done- keeping him in prison for what is essentially the rest of his life based on the other two.

three strikes here has been a complete failure of justice. and I'm sure not the only time it's failed.

Unless I just totally missed it, this incident was not very publicized as newsworthy yesterday here in SE Michigan area. I learned of it from THIS thread/forum. I then used the links and read about it. There were so many disturbing facts and historical red flags on this ONE case that I cannot comprehend how he was able to fly under the radar like this.

There have been a couple of interesting media points of view in this thread though...making me think....
