Shooting @ KC Chiefs facility--2 people shot (1 player) (1 Viewer)

Jay Glazer reported that a Browns employee hanged himself at the Browns facility Saturday morning. It was in an equipment shed. The players and coaches had already left for Oakland, so weren't involved in finding the body.
Wonder if Costas will come onat halftime tonight and advocate the banning of ropes. If ropes were banned, Iknow that pour soul would still be alive today.

I didn't read through today's posts regarding this, but listening to Costas pretty much gave the " yeah well, that's just, like, your opinion man" and who the f really cares what you think Costas. I'm sure a roid rage beating death would have been more apropos for the NFL.

What is going on man... :(
Whats worse, is a man jumped from a parking garage outside my office window on Friday. 7 Stories, all they did was cover the body with a sheet while they had the CSU there, very disturbing to look at for about an hour.
and you were where at the time.....?
On my way into work when he jumped, they already had the sheet, but I could see the whole process of the clean up nice and clear from my office. Upsetting.

then he'd want to ban 'roids.oh, wait......

It is a part of his legacy, and most likely the one thing people who did not know him will remember. But I suspect that those that knew him look at this in a different way - weighing the other things they knew about him. He was a murderer - but he was also other things to other people.
that's possibly very true, but I'd say the same about that girl's friends and family.I worked with this one guy -- didn't know him very well, but he seemed like a good guy.

turns out one day he gets arrested for aggravated child porn.

even assuming it was just the stuff on his computer, and not some stray locked in his basement, it's kind of hard to whitewash that behavior just because I happened to know the guy.

it's pretty hard to believe that an incident as described in the reports comes out of nowhere.
seems like some belcher stories have been coming to light.I'll choose to remember him, although that's probably not even true, for who he was.

TAMPA, Fla. (SchnittShow.com) Monday, a caller on the nationally syndicated “Schnitt Show” claimed his family was terrorized by Jovan Belcher, the Kansas City Chiefs star who killed his girlfriend before taking his own life Saturday.

The caller, who raised his family on Long Island, says his son attended school with Jovan, who regularly bullied and beat up his son.

“We went to the police, we went to the Department of Education. We couldn’t do nothing about this kid. Around adults, he always acted like he was such a sweet little guy.”

The caller eventually had to relocate his family to Florida, just to get away from Belcher.

About Belcher, the caller said, “ He destroyed my family. He should have been dead 10 years ago.”

Finally, the caller said, “I’d like to know where he’s buried, so I can go and pee on it.”

Truth. But wait lets not judge a man who killed his girlfriend in front of her mother and their child.

He has earned our benefit of the doubt.

Some chilling details

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs officials knew that linebacker Jovan Belcher and his girlfriend were having relationship problems, and the team provided the couple with counseling in an effort to help, a police official said.

Belcher fatally shot Kasandra Perkins, 22, at their Kansas City home Saturday before shooting himself in the head in the Arrowhead Stadium parking lot in front of team officials who were trying to stop him, including general manager Scott Pioli and head coach Romeo Crennel.

Police Sgt. Richard Sharp told The Kansas City Star for a Tuesday story that the couple had been arguing over relationship and financial issues for months and that the team had been "bending over backward" trying to help them. Sharp didn't specify how long the couple had been undergoing counseling.

The Star also reported Tuesday that Belcher kissed Perkins on the forehead and apologized to her seconds after fatally shooting her. The scene reportedly was witnessed by Belcher's mother, who was staying with the couple. Belcher then reportedly apologized to his mother, kissed his 3-month daughter, and left his home.

When Belcher arrived at Arrowhead on Saturday, he encountered Pioli in the parking lot and told him the assistance the team had offered hadn't fixed the couple's problems and now "it was too late," Sharp said.

Pioli tried to persuade Belcher to put down his gun as Crennel and linebackers coach Gary Gibbs arrived at the scene.

Belcher thanked the men for everything the team had done for him and asked if Pioli and team owner Clark Hunt would take care of his daughter, The Star reported.

After that, Belcher reportedly said, "Guys, I have to do this."

"I was trying to get him to understand that life is not over," Crennel said Monday. "He still has a chance and let's get this worked out."

When Belcher heard police sirens approaching, he knelt behind a vehicle and shot himself in the head.

Still think this was a crime of passion?

KC - Jovan Belcher texted he would shoot girlfriend - Wed Dec 19, 07:23 AM

Former Kansas City Chiefs LB Jovan Belcher reportedly sent a text message to his secret girlfriend saying he 'would shoot' Kasandra Perkins, just months before he killed her and later took his own life, according to the police report. Belcher texted the other woman that he 'would shoot' the 22-year-old mother of his three-month-old daughter 'if she didn't leave him alone.' According to the police report, the secret girlfriend, also 22 years old, believed Belcher was joking.

Update

Two biggest revelations:

1. Belcher's blood-alcohol-level was .17 at the time of his death, and was probably higher when he shot his girlfriend.

2. Police had actually discovered Belcher asleep in his car 5 hours before the shooting, but decided not to charge him because police did not smell alcohol on his breath. (I wonder if Belcher got preferential treatment from cops who recognized him??)
