Those of you tooting the Lowrie horn, I hate to burst your buble, but here you go http://www.masslive.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/03/terry_franconas_faith_in_marco.html
From the article
If Scutaro is hitting .190 on Patriots Day, the chant will go out for Lowrie or Iglesias. It won't happen.
Patriots Day is like 15 games into the season, of course he wont make a change then. If Scutaro is batting .190 on June 1st, and Lowrie is tearing it up, I have little doubt Tito would make the change.

Well, Lowrie sure didn't show much in the spring. Looks like he's got his work cut out for him, even with a good start, which isn't likely.

He did have a .907 OPS in 197 PA at the big-league level last year.I'm not worried about his talent. I'm worried about his opportunity. And even if he plays 4 games/week that's not what I want when I overpaid for him this year, feeling the man-love. But the article is probably right. Lowrie won't get the full-time job unless Scutaro gets hurt or really, really sucking wind and the Red Sox won't trade him because won't get anything more valuable than an IF super-sub who they trust back. But if you have the room and can set your rosters with the games so if you know that he's playing, he's a good late-round pick.

I'm starting to like Rollins more for this season. IF he can lock up and hold onto the #3 spot in the lineup (sounds more and more like Utley is out for the season), he could produce Han-Ram/Tulo type numbers. He's always had the power to hit lower in the lineup, but for some reason he sees himself as a leadoff hitter even though his OBP sucks. Its also a contract year for him. This wouldnt effect my thinking too much on some guys, but Rollins seems like the type that will actually give more because of it. If he's going in the same ballpark as Jeter/Reyes, Im buying.
