Should I be nervous with both Brees and Colston? (1 Viewer)

Hi folks - I've been lurking here for a while and just signed up. First post!

I need a little advice here - I have both Brees and Colston on my roster and I'm just a little nervous about that. On the surface, that may seem like a great 1-2 punch, as that combo has single-handedly won me some games. My dilemma is that my record is 4-5, currently 2 games out of the playoff hunt, and I cannot afford any more losses. If for some reason Brees goes cold and they both suffer, that is a huge blow to my team and it may cost me a playoff appearance. So ... my question is should I not worry about having them both and just enjoy the ride, or should I make a move to unload Colston and get a good value receiver for him, like Harrison or Roy Williams?

Our league starts 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1Flex(RB/WR), 1 TE, DST, K. This is my team:

QB: Brees, Garrard

RB: R. Brown, A. Green, W. Lundi, J. Norwood, De. Williams

WR: T. Holt, M. Colston, R. Moss, B. Edwards

TE: A. Gates, H. Miller

K: Kaeding

DST: SD

(No, I'm not a SD fan)

Thanks in advance!

P.S. Anyone know where I can get a Monty-Python-esque avatar? I tried uploading one and it just didn't take

ride them both! Even if Brees has a "bad" day (say 165 yards and 1 TD, way below a starting QBS avg) the odds are that 80 and a TD will go to Colston. He is their main red zone target. Colston could still have a good day even if Brees doesn't.

While the statistics are unlikely to be correct in this assumption, the basic premise is correct.Youve got a top 5 QB and a top 5 WR. Don't overthink it.

I would not trade Colston. He may end up being the #1 WR this year when it's all said and done. And Brees is treating him like his new Gates. Do you remember how that worked out the last couple of years? :banned:

Yes, I certainly do - thanks for the quick responses, guys - I have been leaning towards keeping them both, now I think I'm just going to ride them from here out. NIKwsN

:bye: :nerd: I've ridden Bulger, SJax and Holt to the points lead and a tie for first place. If the players produce, who cares if they are on the same team. The bye weeks are over...

I'm not a fan of having a QB and WR from the same team. Even the best such combos like Manning and Harrison have the occasional mediocre day together. What you don't want is for that to happen during your playoffs.

I haven't checked but what does the Saints schedule look like going forward? I seem to recall that they have a pretty tough one.

I would think that while Colston is on a historically rare hot streak for a rookie, you could find a good replacement for Brees somewhere out there.

As long as they are producing....ride them till the wheels fall off.

The only thing that matters is that they are on your team and not your opponents.
