I really like some of the stats at footballoutsiders and although they aren't perfect they do a good job of comparing every play by every player against one another and determining their success rate adjusted for the strength of the defense they are playing. Again, it's not perfect but it gives a much better indication of "successful" a QB is in relation to every other player in their position. BTW Grossman was ranked 33rd among QB's this year.
I just went with QB rating because it's easily accessible. In fact I don't need too many numbers or too complex a formula to see Grossman doesn't measure up. It's painfully obvious watching him play. I see way too many problems with him to think he'll be able to correct them all - I can't think of any time in the past when someone as bad as he is right now turned it around and became a productive NFL qb. It really is just that simple.

I am looking at the big picture. Grossman has had good games and bad as has Romo. They both regressed. Romo as well. His statistics are inflated due to a 5 td performance against a banged up/weak team. Before he is good or going to be good he needs to improve and play more than 8 games.

I'm not saying Grossman is good, just pointing out that Romo's career is similar and the fact he is a Pro Bowl qb is absurd.

Agreed. I was making more of a general comment about QB rating...
