Show me the best team you've built ..... (1 Viewer)

BL Titans

Just curious if anyone has built an almost unbeatable team through smart drafting, fancy trading, pure luck etc

I would post mine ........ but I haven't got one that great

I mean a team in a 12 or 16 team league that has 3-4 stud RB's, WR's, TE's, QB ........ a team that has got it all and almost unbeatable - you got one ?

Any team that's "unbeatable" is likely formed from being in a league where people don't know the difference between a halfback, quaterback, and fullback.

QB: - Emmitt Smith

RB - Emmitt Smith

FB - Emmitt Smith

WR - Emmitt Smith

WR - Emmitt Smith

TE - Emmitt Smith

K - Emmitt Smith

Almost had that team last year, had Larry and Rudi but made the bad decision of retaining Andre Johnson over Steve Smith.

:fishing: It's alot easier when you are the only one drafting.

I think the best team I ever had any point in a season was back around 2004. My starters were:

Starters:

Plummer

Priest

LT

Jamal (flex)

TO

1 of AJ/Moulds/Kennison

Heap

Elam

Strahan

J. Abraham

J. Peterson

Urlacher

A. Wilson

Archuletta

Priest and TO and Jamal were original draft picks, with Jamal on the cheap as it was his first year off knee injury and everyone was wary of him but I figured he was worth a keeper slot for his future production. Got LT in a trade back in early 2002 when his ADP was viewed as around the #8-#10 RB, for A-train and Peerless Price (who was the #1 WR at the time with Bledsoe in Buffalo).

Work league, so it wasn't entirely shark-filled waters as you can imagine.

A guy in our keeper league currently holds:

L.Tomlinson

C.Portis

C.Williams

C.Johnson

T.Holt

This is my last year's roster that won one of my 10 team redraft leagues. I've been playing for almost 10 years, and I'm almost embarrassed to post it here, but I lucked out by having a great draft, waiver wire transactions, and trades.

QB

Jake Plummer (drafted)

Drew Brees (acquired by trade)

Ryan Fitzpatrick (waivers)

RB

Edgerrin James (drafted 1st round)

Warrick Dunn (drafted 2nd round)

Larry Johnson RB (drafted 6th round)

Clinton Portis RB (acquired by trade)

Rudi Johnson (acquired by trade)

Samkon Gado (waivers)

WR

Chad Johnson (drafted 3rd round)

Larry Fitzgerald (drafted 5th or 7th round)

Chris Chambers (drafted 5th or 7th round)

Plaxico Burress (acquired by trade)

Antonio Bryant (waivers)

Marcus Robinson (waivers)

TE

Todd Heap (drafted in like 8th round)

K

Jay Feely (waivers early on in season)

Def

Cincinnati Bengals (drafted late)

NE Patriots (waivers)

Lots of the other owners were burnt going into the playoffs, but what can I say? It is possible to build a great team during the season, but a great draft is the most important.

This was my starting lineup going into our championship:

QB Plummer

RB L. Johnson, Portis, R. Johnson

WR C. Johnson, Fitzgerald, Chambers

TE Heap

K Feely

Def Bengals

Last year in a standard scoring ten-team league, my team included:

WR - S. Moss

TE - Gates

At one point every one of my starters was in the top three in scoring.

I missed the playoffs, in case you were wondering.

This one is an 8-team contract-keeper league, but rosters are 20 deep, and we start 2QB 3RB 3WR TE K. I'll give you my current roster, prior to our free agent auction:QBManningPalmerRBLarry JohnsonLaDainian TomlinsonLamont JordanF.GoreWRC.JohnsonL.FitzgeraldR.WayneD.DriverM.JonesKey.JohnsonTEGatesAnd I've got the 3rd and 7th picks in the first round of the rookie draft, and about $40 of $200 to spend at the auction. Took five years to build this one. Tomlinson is on his second contract with me - he was an initial purchase at the founding auction. Larry Johnson came cheap back when he had no starting job and didn't look so impressive. Nearly everyone else was acquired via trades except Fitzgerald and Jones, whom I drafted, and Driver and Keyshawn, whom I acquired at auction.

All current Dynasty leagues

Fantasy Legends - Bulger, Brees, Reggie Bush, Larry Johnson, Stephen Jackson, Kevin Jones, Reggie Wayne, Javon Walker, Lee Evans, Drew Bennett, Heath Miller, Vernon Davis, Ben Troupe, Kaeding, Pittsburgh

Fantasy Legends II - Brady, Benson, LT2, M Turner, F Taylor, Holt, Boldin, Javon Walker, Tony Gonzalez, Vinatieri, Pittsburgh

Champagne Classic - Hasselbeck, Benson, Rudi Johnson, Dunn, Norwood, Chad Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Terrell Owens, Tony Gonzalez, Ben Troupe, Tampa Bay Def

MOX 1 - Peyton Manning, Kevin Jones, Rhodes, one of Maroney or DeAngelo Williams after Sat draft, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Roy Williams, L.J. Smith, McMichael, Troupe, Kaeding, Pittsburgh, Indy def

HyperActive Fantasy Football League (PPR) - Bulger, Plummer, LT2, Benson, Dayne, Turner, Moats, Holt, Glenn, Chad Jackson, Sin Moss, Lloyd, Heap, Pope, Vinatieri, Rackers, Bears, Jacksonville def

Had this team(other players, too. But don't remember who) going into last season, but the league folded. Don't remember my defenses either. I dominated in 2004.

One of my 12-team shark redraft teams in 2002 had:

QB

Vick (QB 3)

Green (QB 7)

Pennington (QB 14)

RB

Holmes (RB 1)

Portis (RB 4)

McAllister (RB 6)

Bennett (RB 17)

ASmith (RB 23)

WR

Ward (WR 3)

Moss (WR 5)

K-Rob (WR 14)

Gardner (WR 17)

CJohnson (WR 18)

TE

Gonzalez (TE 2)

Before you suggest that I was playing with amateurs, most of those guys were pre-breakout and I happened to hit on all of them. The only really proven players were Holmes, Moss, and Gonzalez and the rest all blossomed in the same year.

Long story short, even with a Murderer's Row of talent, I ended the regular season 7-6 (I always played teams that had great scoring weeks). I only made the playoffs because I needed a win and another team to lose (which it did). I ended up romping through the playoffs, but I was very close to not even making the playoffs.

My 10 team dynastry league  , and will only get better (start 2qb/3rb/3wr/1k/1d - standard no ppr):

I walked away with one of my 12-team leagues last season. Starting lineup was:

QB - Peyton Manning

RB - Shaun Alexandar

RB - Edgerrin James

RB - Mike Anderson

WR - Anquan Boldin

WR - Rod Smith

WR - Jimmy Smith

TE - Randy McMichael

K - Jeff Wilkins

D - Jacksonville Jags

After the draft my RBs were Shaun Alexander, Cadillac Williams, Mike Anderson, Fred Taylor, Willie Parker, and then I picked up Samkon Gado and Cedric Houston when I saw the writing on the wall that they would become starters.

So as you see, that is where I got all the fire power to pull of the trades I did. :P

I think i have a few REALLY strong teams, and they are all in 12 team, 1 pt per reception dynasty leagues. I'm hoping one of these rosters will bring me a title this year! Check out my starters-
