Hell yeah. You do you.
(I don't like this song that much.)

You're getting into people's favorite bands, so there are sure to be a lot more disagreements. And you'll never get people to understand it's your list of favorites, not some declaration of the best songs.Shuke's 1011 favorite songs by 1011 different artists.
Not:
Some other loser's 1011 favorite songs by 1011 different artists.
Shuke's selections of 1011 songs by 1011 different artists that he thinks other people will like the most.
Shuke's 1011 songs by 1011 different artists that are considered the best.
Start a countdown thread of your favorite shukes or GTFO.Might be my new second favorite shuke.
guilty ...still claiming pick shock for that.I'm in shock that so many people who want to give advice on Ozzy picks don't know how to spell his name.
inspired, ballsy ... ####### awesome choice
another grand salami - you hot, dood! - YOU CAN KEEP MY THINGS, THEY'VE COME TO TAKE ME HOME! - alternate awesomeness from the French lyric that evryone thought said she's ... so ####in' A
a slight hiccup, but we plow ahead with this big ### bombastic ostentatious ##### of a tune
Chalk, sure ... but there's chalk, and then there's Secreteriat level chalk - this is their Belmont Stakes.
dem boyz had to get drunk on sumtin'60. Thin Lizzy - Boys are Back in Town
There's a handful of classic rock songs still left in the list that while overplayed, I don't think I'll ever tire of them. This is one.
FIXED - AND AGREED!U2's best song, by far, was released before 1985. Deal with it.
I understand completely and I know the premise of his list. That’s my language for saying “I vehemently disagree” and also on the helpful side “Maybe, just maybe, you have not heard all Paul McCartney songs and you might find something you like better elsewhere.”You're getting into people's favorite bands, so there are sure to be a lot more disagreements. And you'll never get people to understand it's your list of favorites, not some declaration of the best songs.

It’s like a young shuke- no wonder she likes them236. Lord Huron - Fool For Love
This is probably my wife's favorite band. She had some medical issues a while back, and she has said that listening to them helped her get through it. We saw them live last year, and we happened to park near the ban'd bus. On the way to the car ran into their lead singer and chatted a few minutes.
Love Peter Gabriel. Saw him with Sting a few years ago. He’s done just about everything from the soundtrack to Passion of the Christ soundtrack (which is awesome btw) to collaborations with so many great musicians and his start with Genesis. If I had to pick one song, it would be Mercy Street. Black Uhuru also did a fantastic cover. So is such an awesome album. I think the last track, This is the Picture, with icon Laurie Anderson is grossly underrated.
One of the first 10 songs I downloaded on Napster along with New Year's Day (which I prefer to Sunday). Those original MP3s have made it from CD to CD, USB to USB, device to device all these years later.58. U2 - Sunday Bloody Sunday
Very tough choice. U2's best three songs, by far, (this, Pride, and New Year's Day) were all released before 1985. Deal with it.
Agreed - great tune if a bit overplayed. Emerald from the same album is probably my favorite of theirs - packs some serious nads.60. Thin Lizzy - Boys are Back in Town

My Cream faveBoth great songs. I also like Swlabr. Cool title.
That was pretty bad, especially considering his discography.
I love the way EC's guitar sounds on that album. My Cream fave
So tight among the three of them. And heavily influenced by Roger McGuinn's Rickenbacker twang.
ftr: It was your thread title that drew me in and selection 967 that lost me.
You’re the 27th person to say this without offering alternatives. That was pretty bad, especially considering his discography.![]()
Love the rationale (under-appreciated band) behind this pick, agree with the U2 pick (New Year’s Day is my fave), all is well. I would have gone with another Kinks song probably, but you can’t really go wrong with this.63. Kinks - Picture Book
Probably one of the most underappreciated bands ever. So many great songs to pick from.
Also considered: Victoria
Give this one a shot....Charlie Daniels on fiddle. 13 minutes of glory.64. Marshall Tucker Band - This Ol' Cowboy
You remember before the internet? In order to get new music you had to buy it or make a tape from someone else's album. Well, I was always hankering for more. So while in college I would drive downtown to the Cincinnati public library and browse all the CD's in the media section. I'd leave with 10 or 15, take them home and listen to them. If I liked the album I'd tape it. But if I only like a song or two, I'd only tape those, so I had a collection of mixed tapes also. For whatever reason I wasn't a huge fan of this Marshall Tucker album at the time, so I had this on one of my mixes. Can't You See is an awesome song and probably the anticipated selection, but it's not my favorite.
Green Day did a cover of this song except they called it "Warning" and I don't think they gave any credit to the Kinks for it. Could be wrong.63. Kinks - Picture Book
Probably one of the most underappreciated bands ever. So many great songs to pick from.

"Living on a Thin Line"?Love the rationale (under-appreciated band) behind this pick, agree with the U2 pick (New Year’s Day is my fave), all is well. I would have gone with another Kinks song probably, but you can’t really go wrong with this.
Glad you asked. I'm omitting Wings stuff. You’re the 27th person to say this without offering alternatives.![]()
I sort of am partial to Village Green Preservation Society, but I like how you think."Living on a Thin Line"?
im'ma say "Destroyer" or "Victoria" ... my dark horse would be "Don't Forget to Dance"I sort of am partial to Village Green Preservation Society, but I like how you think.
for "older" Kinks: Nothing in this World...I sort of am partial to Village Green Preservation Society, but I like how you think.
Great choice, I also dig"Living on a Thin Line"?
Destroyer is my Kinks fav -otb_lifer said:"Destroyer"
Not only Phoebe C, but the lyrics are superb!65. Cars - Moving in Stereo
As if the song isn't good enough on its own, for men my age it will permanently be associated with a topless Phoebe Cates.
Solid, solid choice, but - I prefer Ulysses slightly.59. Cream - Crossroads
I originally had this tune slotted for Clapton's solo spot, until I realized it was actually originally a Cream release. So this knocked Tales of Brave Ulysses off the list.
I like this pick, but my personal fav has gotta be Crazy Train. Not only is it some of Randy Rhodes best work, but ...You thought that GnR pick was bold (dumb)? Hold my beer.
67. Ozzy Osbourne - Goodbye to Romance
I only had one Ozzy album growing up, Blizzard of Oz. This was my favorite song on it, just ahead of Mr. Crowley.
Yeah - good one! Some very good ozzies, including the official pick. But this ones shreds.

Album: McCartney. Consider Junk, or (I'm sure you know) Maybe I'm Amazed
Album: Ram. You probably know this album as Too Many People is on it. Others may enjoy Monkberry Moon Delight
Album: McCartney II: Consider Coming Up (I prefer live versions of this tune, myself, as they are less disco-ey and more rocking)
Album: Tug of War: Consider Here Today
Album: Pipes of Peace. Um...
Album: Press to Play. Um...
Album: Flowers in the Dirt (my personal favorite--I saw him on tour twice in 1989): Consider You Want Her Too, We Got Married, Put It There, That Day is Done
Album: Off the Ground: Consider Hope of Deliverance, Mistress and Maid, Cosmically Conscious
Not much more to add--I am poorly versed in his solo work after the 1990s. Enjoy the tunes above.
