I think Sidney Rice can get 8 Tds this year regardless of QB, as defenses must clog up the run and force the Vikings to throw. But I am not confident.

Is Rice polished enough for 8 TDs, or is he another VJAX?

Throw the ball up and that guy is going to come down with it. Sooner or later the Vikes will realize this.

I think Rice has a chance to be good. Maybe even Braylon Edwards good. Neither is super fast, but they're both big targets who excel at making difficult catches. I'd love to see what Rice could do with 125+ targets from a competent QB.

Ive been thinking about Rice for a while now, Im pretty sure he's going to be useless for a while now. Tarvaris will stay the QB atleast this year, then once they realize he's useless they'll draft a QB, with their roster it will probably be a mid to late first. QBs drafted in this range:Kyle BollerJP LosmanRex GrossmanPatrick RamseyJason CampbellAaron RodgersChad PenningtonNot a very good group, and none of them contributed till their third season if at all. So you're looking at around 2012-2013 to see Braylon Edwards like production, if at all. I think Im looking at other options personally. Than maybe come back to him later. Theres an opportunity cost holding a useless receiver for that long.

I think it's a bit early to write Tavaris off.

Yea, and teams aren't that complacent to intentionally let their QB situation fester. Keep in mind that Edwards himself didn't have a proven QB at this point last year. Sooner or later the Vikes will find someone who can sling it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Rex Grossman / Kyle Orton. That is all.

I too love Rices potential. I picked him in two of my money leagues, but missed out on him in my third big money league. I think 8 TDs is doable because he is a great red zone threat. If on first and second down defenses stack the line to stop AD...the third down play will be a lob to Rice.

He is my version of Wes Welker this year...not saying that he is going to lead the league in catches by any means, but the guy I really wanted late that I think will breakout.

Again, im not saying that he is welker....just THE wr I was targeting in all my leagues after the 10th round with big upside.

I think Berrian is the #1 WR in that offense.
He is listed at the #1...but he wont be in terms of stats by the end of the year. Which is another reason I love Rice. You can get him a few rounds after Berrian and I think he will outperform Berrian.

I drafted Rice as my 4th WR. My first three are Plax, Calvin Johnson, and Bowe.

Plax is solid, but I am counting on one of the other three to emerge. Otherwise, I'm screwed.

Berrian has averaged : 61 rec., 853 rec. yards and 5.5 TD in last 2 years.I'm not saying Berrian is All Pro but he put up decent stats with below avg. QBs and is much more polished than Rice. Its also a bold statement to say a 21 year old kid who had 31 Rec. 396 yards and 4 TD will suprpass Berrians averages this year.

I'm not sure if Rice puts up more than the averages I listed above this season. 8 TD could be pushing it esp. with Tavaris at QB but I could def. see around 6.

I would say both Sidney Rice and B.Berrian owners are glad to look across the other side of the ball and see the opposite player there. Unfortunately, there are not enoguh passes thrown in MINN for both to be every week starting material (have 70 receptions each) but Berrian is a solid player, who will attract coverage attention and of course have his own production.

With a gun to my head, Berrian 60 receptions, Rice 50 receptions could be accurate if they have to balance out the offense.?

Im also not sure what the situation will be at the goal line, if they are passing, is it A) Rice, B) Vianshanco and C> Berrian?

Edited to lower Berrian to 60 recepts and Rice to 50

:goodposting: Dont forget Steve McNair/Kyle Boller, or the Miami QBs.

Anyone who saw his one legged jump throws last year would know the level of sucktitude we are dealing with here.

8 TDs? At this rate, 8 catches might be out of the realm of possibility.
baby steps, I just want his head to swivel to the rights side at least once, he doesn't need to throw the ball his way, just a little look, that's all i'm asking.

Their QB situation won't be this bad forever.

Childress made a grave error entering the season with Jackson as his guy. They could've made a move for someone like Pennington, Griese, Rosenfels, or Volek. Those guys aren't great, but they'd give you a realistic chance to win each week. Jackson is just pitiful. It's pure hubris by Childress to stick with him for so long.

I will give you that 8 TDs on the year for Rice or Berrian is gonna take a few prayers with T Jack taking snaps. If the running game had been going they would never have opened it up.
