He's had a huge following since he was put in jail. Folks that stand behind him say he just built the platform, he didn't pull the trigger on the murder for hires, he didn't peddle the drugs, he just made a % off the transactions. It was capitalism at its finest.
Kind of a miracle that you remembered how to access your bitcoins. That's a different argument. Yes dollars are used for illegal activities. They are also used for many, many legitimate purchases. Bitcoin isn't. Nothing is sold in bitcoins. At least nothing I know of.

I don't profess to be an expert (there are some on these boards that may chime in.) But the market cap for crypto is in the trillion's I believe, even if he as some billions lying around it will take a while to cash out.
