Simple Life Hacks: share 'em (1 Viewer)

if you have too many spare toothpicks and clothespins from lifehacking the hell out of it then drill four holes in your garbage and put a command hook on it take that to the bank bromigos

In a hurry but don't want to make a mess in the bathroom? Pee in the sink while you wash your hands!

You can keep the warm air on but turn on the a/c too. This will keep the temperature up but pull the moisture out of the air.
Fyi - if your vehicle has a "Max Defrost" button, it already does blend heat & A.C. for you.

I'll stick with my kitchen garbage theme.  About a year ago when moved into new house had one of those dumb lazy Susan corner kitchen cabinets that inevitably become an abyss of unused kitchen crap.

I bought a plastic cutting dremel saw and cut away the middle shelf and made it into a simple support bracket. Now it's a perfect rotating corner trash station that fits large trash bins!  When I remodel my kitchen in next year or so I'm definitely gonna keep the guts of this and insert it into a new corner cabinet.  I've never seen this done before, but it's a pretty great kitchen garbage setup.

Your brand of cabinets looks exactly like mine! As this was not my first house I tried a couple things differently this go-round that folks might like.

#1: They make a cabinet for trash bins, I think (2) 2' x 3'  bins (included--one recycling is how we use it), which frequently fit perfectly with standard kitchens where wall-to-wall measurements also involve a corner cabinet. We have ours on the far end of the "L" configuration towards the outside door. The bins are sized for standard trash bags.

#2: Get an undercounter corner cabinet with fixed shelf. The shelf will be recessed to accommodate access to different size items, and is fabulous for sheet pans, pots, and other larger and maybe less needed items. The odds are good that you will then have a more shallow overhead corner cabinet above the base cabinets--put your lazy susan in that one and use it for spices and such.

ETA: we actually ended up with a narrow space in which we inserted a 9" cabinet for the sheet pans, next to the stove.

2. Use old socks to keep your wippers warm

lol @ wipers warm

That's great til the ice and cotton mix and freeze to your wiper and when you go unsock the wiper you peel some of the wiper off

I’m getting a lot of mileage out of the tabs on the side of foil and clear wrap. No one I’ve told about it has ever heard of it. My mom even sent me a text thanking me for telling her about it, and she’s old.

Not sure who mentioned it, but it was a good one.

I had just read your post in Tipsey’s thread; was hoping for a Simple Life Hack related to that.  :pickle:

The best time to buy a Christmas tree is between Dec 26 and Jan 2.  Tree lots have huge sales during that period.

Have a bad sense of direction?

Get a tattoo on your forearm of a compass and you’ll never get lost.

If you’re one of those Oregonians that has never had to pump your own gas before...the one with the green handle is organic.  Much better for planet earth.

Want to enjoy a nice scotch on-the-rocks but you’re out of ice?  Throw a couple of frozen meatballs into your glass and problem solved.

I think the meatballs soaked in scotch would be much better than the scotch soaked in meatballs.

I assumed all FBGs had multi story climate controlled garages for their fleets.

If it happens to be a day you aren’t taking your own car the limo driver will keep the engine running while you are in the office banging your secretaries.

Whos dealing with window fog?

When you go on vacation/evacuation/whatever leave a frozen cup of water (I know it’s ice but I want to differentiate from a cup of ice cubes) with a penny on top in the freezer.  When you come home if the penny is inside the ice your fridge lost power long enough for frozen food to thaw and things to go bad.
