I TRIED to like Futurama. It just sucked. At least Simpsons held sentimental value when it sucked (which is 95% of the last 5-8 years). Sorry.

No...the newer ones are awful compared to the older seasons. I stopped watching years ago.

I do watch seasons 2-7 that are ripped to my hard drive occasionally, which are awesome. It disappoints me that the younger generation thinks The Simpsons are what is being put out there now.

I hear FXX just "bought" the rights for reruns - been a sharp decline in the last couple years I've noticed in the re-run frequency. Hell, local fox doesnt have any weekday Simpsons slots anymore. I like modern family, but the same damn thing three times a day five days a week... no thanks.

I need to watch this episode. Can't remember the last time I heard this much positivity.  I mean, I recall #####ing about how the Simpsons just is not what it used to be.  And that was 1999.  And again in the mid 2000's.  Then I sorta gave up on the new stuff unless it was right in front of me for some reason.

I only watched it because it was Boston-related. Haven't watched a new episode in years. I've watched some older ones, because a channel I watch rolls over into them at 11 and you get hooked.
