SJax owners (1 Viewer)

Just read that Pace will miss the rest of the year with a tricep tear. I haven't seen the Rams play often, but have to think Pace is a big part of the success SJax has had. Looking for some info on who will replace Pace, and if anyone in the know thinks this will impact Jackson's performance?

Run blocking is easier than pass blocking & that's where Pace excels, at the Left Tackle position. I think this effects Bulger far more than SJax.Of course, Bulger being effected negatively, will indirectly end up affecting SJax, so in answer to your question, Yes the loss of pace will effect SJax, though in a diluted sort of way.

Anytime your best OLman goes down it's going to impact the performance of the entire offense.

I've got SJax in 2 leagues, but right now it's past the trading deadline and there's obviously nothing out there on the WW. You drafted him as an RB1 so there no way you bench him, at least at this point.

I don't mean to blow off the question but I think it's moot, we just have to deal with it.

I don't think anyone would bench Jackson due to the Pace injury, as he has been so productive this year. My thread was looking more for info on how the Rams will account for the loss of Pace, and trying to gauge everyone's confidence in that replacement and how that projects to Jackson.

yeah somewhat worried........but WTF happend yesterday...bulger as of late has not connected with holt bruce....and now are they out of the playoffs does anyone know???

I'm pretty sure I answered your question as far as I see it.

Adam Goldberg finished the game at LT yesterday and held up well enough. Talk in STL is that they may move Todd Steussie out to LT and bring Goldberg in to the LG spot (Link).

(Speculation) There's also the possibility of moving Alex Barron to LT since that was his position coming out of college, but given his recent struggles at RT I doubt they'd move the Human False Start in mid-season.

Whatever the Rams do, its at least a temporary downgrade of all STL QB, RB, WR.

its a bit of a downgrade for sure, however the biggest hindrance to S-Jax being talked about on the same level as LT2 and LJ is the ATROCIOUS play calling.

the guy carried 5 guys on his back for 4 yards into the end zone.

you know why he did that.. he knew "damn if i go down inside the 5 its pass, pass, pass and i get no glory"

This is EXACTLY why I ended up not taking SJax in the first round, when I knew I was getting Holt in #2 and hoping for Bulger later.

I know the numbers have been good for all so far, but when using the RB/QB combo...one injury like this could negatively affect half of your FF lineup.

that's not even a jump to a conclusion, you just jumped off a cliff.let's wait to see what happens before proclaiming your "strategy" a success.

I didn't say it was a success...just that it was the reason I went away from loading up on one team. I read the article Dodds wrote about it, and how playing a RB/QB or RB/WR combo has proven to be successful in the past...and it made sense. The only point the study ignored however was how one major injury could affect 2-3 of your players. That was what swayed me to not do it.

the impact of a major injury was inherently baked into the numbers based on his methodology.

S. Jackson will be fine iIMO. He probably might not have as much success running to the left maybe they will keep a TE in to help protect Bulger's blind side. Jackson will continue to get his yards thorough the air or on the ground. He is too valuable to be keeping in to pass protect on most passess but if the replacement needs help who knows maybe a slight drop in receptions. I mean Jackson has already put up more reception yards than I expected. He leads the league for yardage for RB's

I'm absolutely concerned. Even if they don't suffer in run blocking (which I think they will) losing Pace will effect their ability to move the ball up and down the field.

They face a good pass rush team in Carolina in week 11 but then get a break facing SF and AZ in weeks 12/13.

I don't think you can possibly bench Jackson now, but is a drop in production likely to result? The guy has been steady as the come, but without Pace I am concerned that he won't have as much opportunity.

I am going to bench Sjax for Caddy :sarcasm: SJax is a must start with or without Pace in the game.
