There's been a lot of talk about sleeper WRs for this week. Which do you feel will put up the best numbers and why?

I voted for M. Floyd vs the smallish Buff DBs with Chambers and Davis out this week.

5 catches for 80 yds 1 td

add Ike Hilliard if Galloween is out! Then flip some coins or drink and pick.....lol

best of luck to you all!

I don't really consider Camarillo and Hester sleepers. Floyd is a solid choice. But I picked Brandon Jones (other) because Gage and McCairens are injured.

Floyd's a nice pick.Brandon Jones is probably a hail mary type this week, but everyone in front of him is hurt. I know Tennessee doesn't throw a lot, but he's the only decent target wr-wise.

I agree that Camarillo and Hester might not really be sleepers at this point. I went with Floyd because the stars seem to be aligned. In PPR leagues, I think Antwaan Randle El could be a very nice place this week. Steve Smith tore the Browns up on intermediate routes last week and that's where Randle El has been active so far this season.

Mike Furrey he is going to get some steady playing time now that Roy Williams is gone. He knows how to find soft spots in zone and runs good routes.

Can't believe the lack of love for Wade. I still like Floyd but Wade was a close 2nd. He's had a bunch of targets lately and Berrian and Rice are both banged up.

Depends on who you ask...but a lot of people think McDonald will get more looks than Furrey with Roy out of town.

I was more excited about Wade's potential this week until I heard there's a good chance Rice will play tomorrow. Even if Wade still starts I would expect Rice to be involved and take away from Wade's potential.

Between McDonald and Furrey, I choose Furrey. I believe he's the one to own.
Perhaps, but McDonald has been named as the #2 for this week's game.

Don't believe what you read as the depth chart. I guarantee you Furrey will get more receptions than McDonald most weeks. Also, ----- "Lions coach Rod Marinelli would not say Wednesday who will replace Roy Williams in the starting lineup.

Mike Furrey has played more than Shaun McDonald recently, which may give Furrey the upper hand. The Lions' beat reporters should have more on this by the end of the week, but for now Furrey should be the slightly preferred waiver add in PPR leagues. McDonald presents more of a big-play threat."

I read this week that the Lions like McDoald in the slot and the plan was to keep him in that role with Williams leaving.

A lot of guys voting for Avery. Keep this in mind...he has had 3 catches for 24 yds, 3 catches for 22 yds, and had 3 catches for 25 yds before the last drive where he made a great catch for 48 yds to end up with 4 catches for 73 yds.

So, he's been consistently putting up 3 catches for around 20 yds each game. I realize the Cowboys secondary is banged up, but Pace is OUT for the Rams so Bulger may not have time to look down the field.

I chose other ... Anthony Gonzalez

Because I have to start him ... But Indy is playing GB and it should be a high scoring game and Manning is heating up

Bo Scaife and Alge Crumpler? Just wishful thinking....

My vote here goes to Furrey as the coverage should roll to Calvin and Detroit will likely be playing from behind.

3 cathches every week plus a chance for a big play ... ie TD run or 48 yd catch is a good reason to pick Avery. Add he is a rookie #1 WR picked in the draft) who is getting more and more playing time every week and going against a banged up secondary.

This thread has been very interesting. Shows most people so far are voting for McDonald vs Furrey. Also shows the with Lloyd out most owners think Hester will be the man and R. Davis is getting little respect from owners.

Owners are very high on Avery this week. I like the rookie, and actually have him on 2 of my rosters, but will be playing Floyd over him in one league (the other I don't need him).

Will be fun to bump this thread tonight and see what happened...I'm very interested to see what Avery and Floyd will do.

Hester has the bonus of taking a return to the house and this could be the week. Here is a blurb from Pro Fantasy Sports:

Devin Hester, WR, Bears: Hester has gone six games without a return touchdown for the first time in his pro career. This week, though, he faces a Vikings team that has already allowed three punts to be taken back for scores — two, of course, by Reggie Bush in a single Monday night game — and is yielding the highest punt-return average in the league. The Vikings are also allowing the eighth largest kick-return average. The decent prospects of Hester ending his return drought help to prop up his value as a fantasy receiver this week. He's a decent No. 3 option.

I added Rashied Davis in order to motivate Roy Williams (on my bench)

Lots of targets, Bears running game isn't very good and DHester can't play every down.

Another deeeep sleeper could be Jabar Gaffney vs Denver. The Broncos are bad vs the run but even worse vs the pass. I thought Morris looked slow and tentative last week, with the other NE RB's out I think the Patriots will need to throw a lot. Also Moss looks like he could start going into his "I don't give a crap" routine like in Oakland.

So Chamber is out and Berrian (according to NFL Network ticker).

So Wade and Floyd should have increase targets.

Derrick Mason
Agreed. Mason is a big-time player in PPR leagues, and although the Dolphins are tough to run on, Miami's secondary can certainly be taken advantage of. Mase gets 8 catches for 90 yards and a TD.

I'm liking Brandon Jones with both Tennessee starters OUT. He's the #1 WR on a team going up against the worst team in the league.

Not so fast my friend...Floyd is doing well also (37 yds and 1 td)

Bulger missed Avery on a go route...nobody within 15 yds. Should have been a 70 yd td.
