Small business question, dealing with an employee (1 Viewer)

Wife's company, long time employee.  Great employee.

He started having panic attacks and was put on meds and not himself since meds.   He uses machinery everday but seems very lotgargiic and almost falls asleep at times.

The Owner and him are good friends but has been saying crazy stuff.  So he is afraid to send him over the edge.  Employee has no family in the area.

I say you got to write him up stating the major safety concern as an owner.   Then personally offer him help.

But the guy is not himself so....you don't know how he reacts.

But remember, longtime employee and friend that just said, do you know a meteor just missed the earth, I wish it hit.

So he is not in right state of mind, he would never said that before meds.

Your wife is the boss/owner?

First thing is to take him out of any poistion where he could harm himself or others, and eliminate any potential exposure for the business.

Worry about his personal well-being as soon as that is taken care of.

Wife works with him for last 15 years, and 25 years total as the owner has.  5 people in the company.
