First off, I'm thinking about only defenses, and not factoring in Special Teams... And, I'm about to walk out the door so I don't have a lot of time to back up my general descriptions. If I'm off base on anything I say below, please correct me.
Here is what I'm thinking if you are cruising your waiver wire because you've got a bad defensive matchup (for me, I thought I was sitting pretty with Seattle against an ailing Arizona, but now I'm thinking they will be full strength. They can be a little scary...)
Most obvious is Buffalo v. Miami, with the Dolphins RB woes and a young John Beck doing his best to throw interceptions.
Bengals against the Rams. Now Berlin is starting, so it looks good. But Cincy had been shredded against the run (BUT, now I see that they've toughened up a little recently). I heard that weather might be a problem. Any insight?
The Saints v. Falcons. NO has been great against the run and terrible against the pass all year, and now they got a whole week to prepare for Redman. He's not any good, right? Great numbers last week, but I've more often seen guys of little talent blow up in a surprise start one week, then come back down to earth the next. Atlanta has been giving up good numbers to their opposite DST all year.
Miami v. Buffalo. Believe it or not, they have been scoring a lot in DST points (at least in my league). They have been giving up a lot of scores, but have been making enough big plays to at least garner a look.... Is weather an issue?
