Sneaky Play of the Week: LenDale White (1 Viewer)

As much as it pains me to promote LW, he has started to value his gift and is beginning to look like an NFL player.

I think Fisher is going to pound the ball against the Colts today and White is the guy to do that, not Chris "Everett" Brown. Fisher always comes up with a great game plan vs Indy:

- TEN surpassed 200 yds rushing both games last year (433 combined). Yes, Young skews this stat.

- They split their match-ups vs Indy with both games being low scoring and close (17-20 and 14-13).

White's running style is more suited for wearing down Indy's DL. Look at what TEN did to the #4 rushing DEF from 2006 last week; just one game, but TEN OL might be one of the better ones this year.

Good luck today. :lmao:

that was last year . . . in case you hadnt noticed, Indy's a little different this year . . . that D shut down the most hyped duo in the league . . . I think it can handle Fatdale and Brown . . .

NO doesn't have the same kind of power running game Tenn has. Both Brown and White can pound it whereas Bush/Deuce are more finesse. Also, Indy has to account for VY, who can frustrate defenses by keeping drives alive. I agree wholeheartedly with CA_7's post and LW could be a good sleeper this week.

Well, you're right about one thing. The Titan's offensive line is good and I think they will run at the Colts. I also think the Colts defense is over rated. They were fortunate that the Saints got away from the run early and fell into the trap of getting into a shoot-out with the Colts offense. It was well established last year that the better strategy is to pound the Colts with the running game, eat up clock, and keep Manning & Company off the field. Fisher is a good coach and that will not be lost on him. As you pointed out, he did it to them last year. However, you're wrong about which Titan RB to play. Brown, when healthy, is the most talented RB on the team. The problem with Brown is he's fragile and can't stay healthy. In this case, it is early in the year and he is fine. So, Brown is definitely the play here.

BTW, just so you know, I own White too. I targeted the Titan ground game during my draft, but had enough experience with Brown to know I had to grab both Titan backs. I got White in the 4th round of a two player keeper league and Brown in the later rounds. I'm very happy with my investment so far.

ball control only works if you have a good defense to keep the score down . . . after Finnegan and Harper get burned a few times, you will kickyourself for starting either RB . . .

2 games last year

colts 14 titans 13

titans 20 colts 17

they played them close both times and limited their offense...

no reason to think that they can't do the same this season...

I can't look at the NO game and think that will dictate how good Indy's DEF will be for the entire year.

I have the luxury of second guessing Peyton's underutilization of Deuce and also think Reggie looked like the Reggie the first half of last year. Just seemed like Reggie was trying to hit a HR on every play instead of letting the game come to him.

Brown over White is an interesting problem and wouldn't be surprised to see Brown break a big run after White has worn down the front line of Indy. Have always been a big fan of Brown but the guy can never stay healthy.

Edit: have been very vocal against LW on this board in past but I think he is starting to get it together (for the time being...)

I think Deuce is a very powerful runner, though the Saints didn't really use him much against Indy for some reason. I do agree that White could be a nice play, though. I think Tenn may just be able to keep this close through three quarters or so.

Im not drinking the cool aid on Brown and White, yet. I don't think either Tenn RB is a sleeper after they ran all over Jax. The Tenn combo of mobile QB, above average o-line, power running combo at RB- these are the factors that set up a rushing team for success.

Secondary factors, playing on grass will slow down Indy D, Indy D a bit banged up, the teams play'em close.

Probably have to like the whole Tenn rushing game this year. Brown will probably give donut boy enough rest to keep going 4 quarters.

I like the call. Tennessee should be running it 75% of the time this game. We'll see how long Indy can could up without a real DT and skinny DEs. Plus Keiaho is out, and he was BIG versus NO.

only IF the Titans D plays well early . . .I can't believe people are starting White or Brown and "hoping" that either one produces . . . its quite possible that NEITHER produces . . .

Titans | Fisher planning to run running backs ragged Week 2

ESPN's Ed Werder reports Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher is planning to run his running backs ragged Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts.
