They were nursing a lead and I think he was coached to not take any chances with it.

He didn’t turn the ball over and he threw some dimes that should have been plays made.

How is Hollister even practice squad material? That clipping penalty was horrific , as was not being aware of passes coming his way.

Nobody expected Willis to start this year or look anywhere near respectable as a starter. I’m actually quite optimistic based on his play yesterday. He looked better than expected, but he has a ways to go.

Super Salty this morning, I posted on the 1st page of this game thread but Xfinity/Comcast where I'm at basically took a dump during the 1st Q/2nd Q of this football game and I never saw another play the rest of the night. Of course this morning everything is back to normal.

Guess I'm lucky this didn't happen at 1:00, i only missed 1 game but it seems like it was a really good one. Guess I'll be able to see a replay on NFLN, assuming it's one of the 3-4 replays they do.

We all can improve, sure, but his play is beyond horrendous. Whoever drafted him has to be second guessing themselves at this point. I mean, has he shown ANYTHING that would inspire confidence?

I was reading the back and forth you and others were having and I understand your POV but Willis was drafted in the 3rd Rd as a project in.a weak QB class.

I laughed when Jalen Hurts was drafted, saw nothing at Alabama to convince me otherwise. Couldn't fight off Tua, looked like a 2nd rate QB, I never believed in him until this season he has made a believer out of me.

Playing QB in the NFL is almost impossible, most weeks we say only about 10-12 of them are worth their salt, the rest everyone wishes they could upgrade for something better.
And yet we continue to watch and pretend all 32 have a legit shot going into the year each and every off season.

Justin Fields down? That guy has come from nowhere to appear like a potential QB fill for the Bears, at least until they find something better.

Tua is drafted by Miami 2020 and they miss the Playoffs his 1st 2 seasons, same as Herbert, along the way over the last almost season now, Tua has gone 12-1 his last 13 starts where he finishes the game. Imagine if they had gone with what many of us were criticizing him about and canned Tua about halfway thru 2021 when Miami was 1-8.
Tua didn't have a lot of friends at that point and the Miami fans had mostly turned on him.

I mean you're probably right. Most QBs drafted (even in the first round) don't materialize to anything more than an average starter. The odds are highly stacked against him. I'm just not ready to make such a strong statement after 2 games.
