If you've spent as much time in amusement parks and/or local-quality improv theater as I have, that sketch is hilarious.Seriously? I turned it on, watched that sketch, and turned it off. Drake was good, but the whole thing was dumb and didn't make me laugh at all.Indiana Rahat was amazing. Drake really worked his ### off in that scene.
I can't say I'm a fan of Drake's music, so I went into this episode biased against him. He was fantastic. Can't stand Drake...even his face pisses me off...
But dude killed it...Katt Williams' impressed me.
The writing was meh but dude crushed what was given.
Agreed. small sample size and all that, but it seems like the writing is not very creative right now. half the sketches are funny because the cast is doing awesome impressions. I don't follow the behind-the-scenes stuff, but did SNL lose a bunch of writers when Wiig, Hader, Sandberg, Forte, etc.. left? Or did most of those guys also write their own stuff?I can't say I'm a fan of Drake's music, so I went into this episode biased against him. He was fantastic. Can't stand Drake...even his face pisses me off...

There is a lot of performance talent in the current cast. The show could take a big leap forward in the next couple years with the right turnover in the writers' room.
Energy and the ability to read cue-cards is half the formula to be a successful host. If the writing is even a little bit better than average, you have a good show.Funny so far.

i recorded this episode to see what Parsons would be like in a role outside of Sheldon.12 Yeas A Slave auditions - I laughed....
Certainly seems to be trending that way. The Digital Shorts really ushered in this era, as it gave them a great way to get viral videos. Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett, along with director Dave McCary, all formerly of the comedy group Good Neighbor, have kind of taken over the Lonely Island spot. The show wasn't bad. Is it just me, or is there less and less "live" to SNL these days?
Seth Myers has been head writer since Tina Fey left. (For better or worse). So pretty big part of the show.Only saw Weekend Update and the 1st skit after the news with the living painting.
Probably watched the weakest spots, Seth Myers gets a lot of love on these boards, I do not think he is nearly as funny as everyone else. I think his turn at the news was a good run, he's solid but nothing I was tuning in for. In fact he was such a small part of the rest of the show I barely noticed him except when he was doing the news.
Is Cecily going to anchor solo now? I haven't heard her do many jokes that were funny on that news section of the show. Tina Fey was really one of the best to ever sit there, I'm not sure I would have said that a few years ago but she really was.
I think there's potential there. I like more of a deadpan style for that. I hate when they laugh at their own jokes.Jost was a little wooden, but I'm sure he'll get into it. Had some good jokes. "Pop-Tarts: the official breakfast of kids whose parents are in over their heads"
The MM impersonation was not all that strong. Matt Damon has set the gold standard. The new Weekend Update guy seems capable.
It looks like they are only going to do eighteen episodes this season. They have only three left: Louis CK, then Anna Kendrick and the season finale with Seth Rogen.Off for a month for Olympics, then 2 new eps, then 2 more reruns?
New or repeat?Louie CK hosts tonight.![]()
They could not possibly screw this up!
Jeopardy resurrection would be awesome.I can't even imagine what type of skits they'll put him in, but I can't wait to find out. Jeopardy would be fun.
The guy can sure work a crowd. Pitch perfect timing. The monologue killed -- no surprise. Right in his comfort zone.
