so i got a CT scan today (1 Viewer)

How in the world can they get all of the pictures they needed in 3 min?  What section of you body?  I had to get a CT on my skull and it took about 30 min....very wierd being in there that long.

it took 3 minutes, they really charge 5k for it?
Not sure what the time has to do with anything? People look at these machines and say they only cost a couple hundred thousand dollars. This doesn't take into account insurance the clinic/hospital pays and the biggest cost people don't consider is the maintenance, which can easily cost more than the machine itself annually. Of course, they also employe countless people...but I digress and nothing I say is going to change anyone's mind anyways.

CT Scan 16 days ago took 15 minutes. MRI today took 30 minutes.  Didn't find anything serious. LOL.  Neurologist on Thursday. Day 29 of the 24/7 headache.

yikes.  sorry to hear it.  I know how frustrating/scary it can be to have an ailment and feel hopeless at finding the cause.  best of luck.

Thanks!   I'm just glad all the major stuff has been ruled out.   It's been a 5/10 the entire time. So not migraine, but no fun at all.  It might have been from a slip on some ice 9+ weeks ago and I fell hard on my tailbone. Actually had light concussion symptoms a few days later from that.

HISTORY: G50.1 Atypical facial pain R51 Headache/Facial Pain

TECHNIQUE: Axial CT sections were made through the without intravenous contrast. Following acquisition of axial source images, oblique reconstructions were made through the maxillary arch. In addition, a Panorex and 3D model reconstruction were obtained. Each of the imaging reconstructions contain a measuring grid to facilitate implant selection by the referring clinician. This study was performed using automatic exposure control (radiation dose reduction software) to obtain a diagnostic image quality scan with patient dose as low as reasonably achievable. The administered radiation dose was 1.1 mSv.

COMPARISON: MRI of the TMJs from 1/2/2016 FINDINGS:

There is a bony exostosis arising from the posterior medial aspect of the right mandibular condyle measuring approximately 1.5 x 0.9 cm. This may be related may be due to osteochondroma or deformity from old fracture. There is pseudarthrosis between this exostosis and temporal bone near the lateral margin of the glenoid fossa. The mandibular condyle is displaced anteriorly out of the glenoid fossa by this exostosis. There is bony fragmentation at the articulation of this exostosis with the temporal bone.

Incidental note is made to lucency compatible with carious lesions involving the right

first and second mandibular molars. There is fragmentation of the right second mandibular molar tooth. Correlation with dental examination is recommended.

I've seen this on the X-Files. I believe you have alien DNA

Just visited an Advanced Upper Cervical Specialist.  My right leg is 0.45 inched longer than left leg. My right arm reached 2 inches lower than my left. My neck range of motion to the left totally sucks.  The blockage is causing the headaches.  Got hit 3 times by a cars in college (left side whiplash on second one), 2005 fell 40 foot off cliff in ATV and landed on left hip, 10 weeks ago slipped on ice showing a home and very fell hard on tailbone. Violent coughing 4 weeks ago with that stupid virus everyone has been getting.  All led to Day 33 of the constant headache. And finally I know how it will go away.

It seems you have an old fracture that did not heal properly. A pseudarthrosis is a "fake" joint that can form when a fracture is not set. This old fracture is pushing your jaw out of place.

You also have 2 cavities and a cracked tooth.

Did they rule out lymes disease?  Neighbor had it and it took months for them to come to that conclusion all the while she was having terrible migraines.

Wife has had 4 CT's and 2 MRI's so far since 3/1. She had a brain hemorrhage and edema (aka bleed and swelling). She was a 12/10 on 3/1, constant 5 since 3/7 or so with occasional spikes up to 7. Been a crazy month.

Yep,  that's exactly what I was going to guess.

I feel for you . I suffer from headaches as well. Migraines & regular 6 out of 7 days a week since my SR yr in HS .Most are low grade headaches but the migraines suck.  Was prescribed Topamx  and the headaches stopped but the meds eventually made have severe stomach pains

Got two MRIs* on Tuesday.  Took 2 hours.  I can see how some people are claustrophobic.
I don't have any phobias, but I barely fit in the damn machine and had my arms strapped down to help stay comfortable. *left elbow and right deltoid.

You're probably confusing a CT with an MRI
