Someone is leaving the Bungles (1 Viewer)

"I'm not sure why we're 2-11 this year," Ochocinco said. "But the thing with me is I've become numb to the situation of losing, being that I've lost for such a long time that I have not been able to point the finger on what it really is."

That seems like a much more noteworthy comment.
I agree. To me, I'd be more bothered by Ocho's comments. On the one hand, Owens is a paid employee and in a "real" job would be fired for slamming his owners and manager (coach). However, that line has been blurred and crossed by athletes for years.. Still what he said, is realy no different than I've heard major CEO's of companies say when times are bad- "we all are responsible for this mess, and we all need to step up"What Ocho is saying though is basically "I don't care or it doesn't bother me that we're losing because we've been loser for so long" If I was in charge, I'd rather have the employee who was tearing himself up over failure than the guy who just didn't care.

That said, as an owner of TO whose only other option would be to start VJax tomorrow--- what's everyones view on the effect this has for this weeks game agasint cleveland for TO? Any chance he gets suspended, benched?

Hoping for some insight here. Not that I understand anything about pro football particularly well, but this is really one thing I'm completely confused by. Here you have the Bengals, who were very good all last year, and made the playoffs. This year they have the same collection of players and coaches, yet they're awful. But not too awful- they're usually competitive in most games. Yet where they were pulling these games out last year, this year they're losing them. On the other hand, take Kansas City. Last year they were dreadful. This year they have a competitive team, and again it's with pretty much the same collection of players and coaches. What are the significant factors we can point to? What makes these teams good one year, bad the next, or vice-versa?
kc added players this year just like every team does, but they also have new coordinators, so that's just not true about having the same collection of coaches.another thing is that a lot of games in the nfl will come down to a couple plays, or maybe 3 points either way, and there are years when you can be on the good end of that to help you win 2 or 3 extra games, and years where you're on the losing end, where you lose 2 or 3 extra --- that might be a 5 game swing right there, which is pretty huge.also, if you take a look at last year's bengals, probably the last 8 games, or so, they had a bottom 3 offense, a pretty crummy record, and the teams they beat were some of the worst in the nfl.they made it to the playoffs on the strength of a strong first half and sweeping their division, to give them credit for that, but when they got to the playoffs they got pummeled by what was basically a .500 team.I could make the case that cincy was doing a few things right last year, but basically a mediocre team, and I could probably make a similar case this year, despite different records.

While no one can tell the future, the chances of the Bengals not re-signing T.O. are about the same as the sun coming up tomorrow morning. The Bengals dont tolerate public criticism. The organization is run like a mom and pop gas station with so called loyalty being high on the list. With all the other shake-ups (new coach, possibly new qb, HOPEFULLY FINALLY A GM!), the Bengals will be in rebuilding mode and T.O. just aint worth the hassle.
what about when ocho was highly critical of the organization and rather than trade him for an alleged 1st+3rd (that could escalate to another 1st) they signed him to a huge contract? then they let the good soldier housh walk rather than shell out a bit less money.
When they signed Chad, they still had dreams of a Super Bowl and Chad was still in his prime. Owens was brought in to get the Bengals over the hump. After this year, they know they got a lot of work to do and re-signing an aging Owens on a rebuilding team accomplishes nothing.

The problem is their front office is the worst in the league, more concerned about pinching pennies and hiring relatives than winning, and that their franchise QB had 2 good years, got a massive contract, then turned back into a mediocre pumpkin of QB who has a contract until 2014.

TO is really the only bright spot on the team this season, and he could talk all the trash he wants.

Nope :lmao:
http://www.whodeyrevolution.com/Terminatio...f%20support.pdfPretty much sums up all the problems with this franchise and outlines the hopelessness that most bengals fans feel.
