special teams tackles (1 Viewer)

i never really thought about it, but upon watching bears game tonight i seen archuleta make a tackle on punt coverage. i have nfl.com gamecenter open and it logs the tackle in the play by play but it doesn't add the tackle to archuleta's stats. do they get counted? if they do count them-do they count them afterwards?

yesthey will be on Gamebook after the game and on Player's page tomorrow
Yeah I wondered about this. At least it appears to me that while the game book makes the adjustment, ESPN scoring does not and Ive noticed that it seems you do not get credit for special team tackles on ESPN scoring. :D Has anyone noticed if this is the case or am I wrong?

Most league websites have a separate check box to include special teams tackles since they aren't technically "defensive" tackles.

Thats so very wrong. There are only two sides to an actual play offense and defense. Regardless of any kicking or change of possesion. And any player can be either at any given instant.Dang websites not understanding basic football. grrrr
