If your playing on yahoo you no doubt have noticed Spencer Havner is listed as a TE, with the news that the Lions could use him at MLB especially with the injury to Levy, if he indeed does play some time at LB this could make him an interesting story especially in tackle heavy leagues.

Do you have a link to such news? I haven't seen any.

The only thing I could find is this from Roto

The Lions announced their acquisition of Spencer Havner on Monday, and listed him as a linebacker.

Will Heller is safe as the third tight end behind Brandon Pettigrew and Tony Scheffler. Havner's main role will be on special teams, but he'll also likely back up DeAndre Levy at middle linebacker with Rocky Boiman gone.

They like to speculate but I don't see a guy off the street starting at such an important position. The Bears depth chart had Tim Shaw behind Urlacher too but when he got hurt Hillenmeyer got the job. You can't look at a depth chart and know who will fill in.

Anyone know who has ben playing there at practice?

He's not really just some guy off the street he was a beast at LB for UCLA he's 6'3 250 lbs, in his 4 year career in college he racked up over 400 tackles 6 sacks 10 ints, and in 2004 he was one of 12 semifinalists for the Butkus award and the Lombardi award.

I never speculated that Havner would start, Landon Johnson will more than likely get the start at MLB If Levy misses some time, but there is a chance that Havner could get some snaps on defense, special teams, and offense at multiple positions, it makes him worth watching.
