Spiller already running with Bills first team (1 Viewer)

Jason LaCanfora is reporting that Bills RB C.J. Spiller is already running with the Bills' first team and is already considered the #1 option at KR and PR.

That was quick. Spiller has the game changing talent to run with the big boys, and news like this suggests he'll have a bigger impact than previously thought. The Bills will put him and Fred Jackson in a committee, but having Spiller in the starting role sets him up to lead the team in touches. If Spiller continues to separate himself in camp, he'll deserve to be a top-20 running back pick in PPR leagues. Aug. 8 - 1:30 pm et

Interesting, but early days yet. I am sure that the coaches would like him to separate himself, but it is by no means certain. And they won't be using him as KR if he is the starting tailback.

Here is what La Canfora actually wrote:
Hearing that CJ Spiller is already gonna start running with the starters after just signing, and he is already #1 option at KR and PR.
The rest of what you wrote, at least from I gather, was taken from MSNBC.

Prior to the 2010 NFL Draft, I was really high on Spiller's prospects as a fantasy asset. Then he was drafted by the Bills and I kind of lost interest.

But this news are reignited my interest in Spiller. Talent is talent, and CJ Spiller is clearly a dynamic talent and sometimes, that's all you need to overcome your situation.

If Fred Jackson can maintain 4.5 ypc on 237 carries, it makes me anxious as to what Spiller can do.

Uhhhh no.....he took ONE handoff in a goal line package drill and promptly got stuffed.

I read: "Running with the first team" which doesn't necessarily mean #1 RB and it doesn't project an expected workload.

I see this as an RBBC situation, in which more than one RB can be running with the first team. It would be smart to get Spiller involved often due to his skill set, but he's likely not ready for a full load. If he does well, I see him getting a good amount of carries, but I don't expect a 20+ carry average.
