Sproles is a FA next year...what does the future hold? (1 Viewer)

I don't even remotely know what to expect. He's shown some value, but I just don't think he'll be signed as a feature back anywhere. Is being a RBBC the best we can hope for him or will SD re-sign him?

I think Belichick likes him, so my call is he'll end up in NE. I think he'll be used the same way Leon Washington is used with the Jets....special teams and a few random carries. I agree with Borat.....too small to be an every down back.

I totally agree with both of you as far as his value as an every down back. I think I could see him as a part of a RBBC when paired with a bruiser.

Brandon Jacobs is a FA in 2009 as well. A team like Cincy would be smart to dump Benson and Perry and sign both Sproles and Jacbs. It would be Pete Johnson and James Brooks all over again. Paired with a healthy CP, resign TJ, get a first rounder for CJ, draft defense and OL...awww, makes too much sense for them to do.
