Sproles or Tolbert going forward? (1 Viewer)

On one hand Sproles was the better play at the beginning of the season (i think) then tolbert got the goal line and is also the replacement if Sproles goes down. No way i'm carrying them both. So who is it?

Depends on how you look at RB. Im set there so I'm dropping him for Louis Murphy tonight. Im worried about my WR production so I dont have the luxury of rostering a back who likely will be seeing limited touches going forward.

If this idiot coach knew what he was doing i would say Sproles. Unfortunately, the guy is an idiot! Sproles starts the game against the hawks, gets the first carry and takes it 16 yards. Then he doesn't get another carry the rest of the game, lol. Tolbert on the other hand is running it for 1 yard, 2 yards or perhaps even 3 yards on each carry and they keep giving it to him. He is lucky that the passing game went ballistic, especially in the 2nd half. Rivers threw for 450 yards, most in the 2nd half, and so the Seahawks had to play a defense which concentrated on the pass. Due to this, Tolbert started to get bigger runs late in the game which brought his YPC up to a "respectable" 4 yards per carry. i'll bet in the first half it was like 2.5 YPC. If Sproles had been given those opportunities, who knows what would have happened. He is absolutely explosive in every facet of the game. His only downfall is his height, but he is still pretty solid for his size. If the San Diego coaches were intelligent coaches, they would give this guy 20 touches per game. Instead, they give the ball to Tolbert for 2 yards a carry. It is insane if you ask me. Not to mention they didn't even pass to Sproles.

On a purely talent question, you gotta go with Sproles. But after Mathews was out and the coaches gave him a total of 1 running touch, i think you got to drop the guy. I quite frankly wouldn't hold either of them. I drafted Sproles in a PPR league, and i'm close to dropping the guy now. Damn, i had a chance to take Mcfadden, thought about it for a second, and ended up taking Sproles and LT with the 108/109 picks in a 12 team draft. It was definitely my massive mistake of the draft. I was so close to taking Mcfadden...ugh, it still bothers me.

only really rosterable in deeper leagues, but id say tolbert since he gets goal line carries and is the guy to have when mathews goes down. sproles will be stuck with the same carries every week and will really never be worthy of a start.

A little different for me as I'm in a return league, so Sproles makes more sense ... but even there, it looks like Crayton took punt returns on Sunday -- I'm hoping that was just because Mathews was out, but it wasn't like Sproles saw extra work as a result.

:lmao: I couldn't agree more. I have sproles and am about to dump him on the waiver wire. It just seems like all my players this year are just like sproles. R.Moss, K.Kolb (I already dumped him), M.Barber, J.Addai, T.O. What gives man? I am 0-3 now and have to make some drastic changes as I don't think alot of my players are going to turn around. My QB2 is Palmer too  I think I am going to dump him for Henne.

No love for a guy that couldnt be stopped aside from ripping his helmet off or punching the ball out of his hands?

Not a huge fan of Sproles or Tolbert but ive rostered both this year and the only reason id even consider starting him is because we get return yds, Tolbert to me is a more successful Brandon Jacobs with a seemingly better O-Line (this season at least, whats wrong with the giants...)
