SSL4 Draft Rounds 1 & 2 (1 Viewer)

2:06 Torry Holt, STL but who was the 2:05 pick?
From what I see, you jumped the gun.Footballhead is OTC and Holt is up for grabs if he wants him.If I'm wrong, let me know.
He's not even close to timing out, is he? Isn't the clock off overnight anyway?
The clock is OFF overnight, in that your time OTC will not start overnight (while your asleep), but will defer to 8am EST the next day. Likewise, if you OTC at midnight EST, you get extended until 8am EST.FootballHead went OTC at 9:15 PM EST (I sent him PM and email at some point). His clock expired at 8am EST. The HOLT pick is now valid for t8knovrChaos is up - I sent him a PMFBH may pick at anytime and is now on a 4 hour clock.
This is wrong. It's my understanding that the clock is OFF from midnight to 8 am and does not count against his time. From my understanding, he has 5 hours and 15 minutes to make his pick when 8 am started.

This is incorrect.....the clock gets suspended 12:00 midnight until 8:00 am EST. While Footballhead's clock started at 9:15 pm EST, it was suspended overnight. Thus, his clock resumes at 8:00 am EST. So, his clock runs until 1:15 pm EST. That is when he would "time-out". Until then, or he picks, no other selections can be made.Re-read the rules for clarification.

It's not like we're doing live draft. This thing meant to be slow and steady. People are so antsy to make their pick "when" they are on line "on" their time.

Incorrect. It is not MEANT to be slow. We are all alotted an 8 hour window to make our selection, but it is preferred that we make our selection as soon as possible.

I'm sorry guys - but my understanding of the rules from past Survivor drafts on this board is as I stated it.

The clock is OFF as far as people timing out and going OTC, but you don't get the remainder of your 8 hour window moved to the next day.

I could be wrong so, I'll PM BnB for a verification.

I like your interpretation better but I don't think its correct.

Either way were moving on so no big deal
Yep, but there's still a lot of draft left, so it'll be good to know the official rule.My interpretation is this: The clock is turned off officially from 12 AM to 8 AM Eastern time. So, if you have two hours left on the clock.......then you have two hours left at 8 AM. If the clock is turned off at 12 AM and you have two hours left, how does your two hours elapse with an off clock?Personally, I like the idea that your time expires thru the night but maybe I'm just to literal when reading rules, I just wouldn't understand how your time would change if a clock is turned off.

I interpreted the rule the common way, but I see the rational for ShadowMaster's reading of the rule. Honestly, I will probably not make many or any picks after 6 or 7 central time, but I am up by 5 in the morning, so I would not have to worry about someone grabbing my WR6 from under me.

Actually, I will try to pm my predrafts as the afternoon wears on and I encourage everyone to do the same. Eight hours is there for a reason, that being some can't get free during work hours to keep up on when they need to submit their pick. I don't begrudge anyone who is held from getting online.

If this drags out, my only fear is we will lose some people in the later rounds.

As an aside, is there anyway to turn off avatars without going to low tech? Some on the site are a bit... odd.

I also included them in the first post. I like your avatar RR. Grew up a gamer and continue to play some pc and xbox, even was a writer on a d20 lorebook (Dungeons and Dragons type project). I don't want to point anyone's out but being a family man, have to be aware of my wife and daughter reacting to some that are a little graphic.Luckily my wife and I love the Steve Miller Band's greatest hits CD, so the midnight toker isn't too bad a drug reference.

Man, if I heard myself say these things twenty years ago, I would laugh and then strike myself in the head several times for being uptight. LOL

That's tough on Guys who have 3-4 picks before his and don't wake up at 8 am ET (or 5 am PT in my case).

Thanks Fiddles, this worked like a charm, just had to remember to save changes. It is amazing what all I don't use in these boards until I realize they are there.

When posting a new thread topic or adding a reply, type the text you want into the text editor, then highlight the text you want to change using your mouse, then click on the color you want it to be. Something like this will show up..... "text". The first will have a number attached to it.
