I picked up Stafford a few weeks ago, and will be starting him this week against Washington.
i'm glad i did too, as my romo-less squad needs him.I picked up Stafford a few weeks ago, and will be starting him this week against Washington.
That surprises me as well.Stafford ranked #2 in the early Week 8 rankings. It's not too much of a surprise considering how generous the Skins pass D has been. But are folks that confident that he'll come out gunning in his first game back? Seven weeks of rust and a tendency to sling it anyway (21 INT)... I'm thinking the back of the Top 10 is more realistic. Agree/Disagree?
I'm another Romo owner who traded for Romo after Stafford went down in week 1 (I had drafted Stafford, Romo and Orton, and had planned to play the match-ups--dealt Ben as part of the Romo deal). I have every confidence that Stafford will put up very solid numbers going forward.Being another Romo owner who is forced to count on Stafford, I'm happy with the way things are going down. There will be rust, but Stafford looked like he had a grasp on things earlier in the season and preseason, and has had some 6 weeks of "clipboard time" he never got as a rookie. With Best looking good, Calvin Johnson and Pettigrew there, a fresh Stafford may be a nice QB1 option most weeks.Assuming there are no shoulder setbacks.
That's funny. I own both of these guys and am leaning Stafford. He's been 100% for two weeks now and has a great matchup. I keep talking myself into the fact that Stafford is going to be huge against the 'Skins.I also lost Romo, so I just picked up Stafford & Fitzpatrick. There's no way I'm counting on Stafford yet until I see him play a game. 6 weeks off and and an injured throwing shoulder is not something you just jump right back from. I'm starting Fitz this week.
I would. Cutler has been awful. My only concern with Fitz is the cold and windy weather come late November/December. However, Cutler will have similar conditions to deal with.I lost romo as well and picked up stafford rather than fitz.My backup is cutler. been wondering if i should drop cutler for fitz . . .
I'm interested in this as well; frankly I was very surprised to this ranking and was wondering if anyone had some real insight to that whole situation. I admittedly am not very familiar with Stafford and forced to consider picking him up off of waivers due to my sudden craptastic QB situation of Romo and Cutler. I know the offense has been pretty good so far this season and being a Best owner, I am aware of the abilities he brings to the table, especially in terms of the passing game. Best should be close to 100% in the toe department and I am assuming that Stafford is okay as well. The team is coming off of their bye (did Stafford practice in full, with the first team offense, for any amount of time?) so they should be rested and prepared. Playing at home helps. Playing against the 'skins helps as well...Are people really believing that he can put up elite numbers this week? the rest of the year? Any thoughts about Stafford's value going forward would be awesomeStafford ranked #2 in the early Week 8 rankings. It's not too much of a surprise considering how generous the Skins pass D has been. I think the staff there is going to put the ball in the QBs hands to win games for them. I really believe if Stafford wasn't ready to go that he wouldn't be in there. He looked great in the preseason, and has fantastic weapons. Even their best RB is more of a weapon in the passing game. If I had a QB I liked going this week, I might wait and see on Stafford, but if I was a Romo owner that just picked him up, I'd start him over a Kitna or a Fitzy in a second.I'm interested in this as well; frankly I was very surprised to this ranking and was wondering if anyone had some real insight to that whole situation. It's guesswork at this point. He's shown that he has the tools to be great, but he hasn't been yet. He has the weapons, but he hasn't had any time to get in sync with them. I think once the offense clicks for a couple games it's on, but until that switch gets flicked, I'm not confident starting him. There's the hope that everything comes together but not any evidence that it already has. It could be this Sunday or next year. There isn't any guarentee on when or if it'll happen. It's the same situation as it was to start the year.I'm interested in this as well; frankly I was very surprised to this ranking and was wondering if anyone had some real insight to that whole situation. Great first game back. Hopefully this will build some confidence--if Stafford and CJ trust each other and start clicking look out. His numbers will be minuscule next week, but 200-250 yards and one or two scores could easily be his floor for the rest of the season if he can keep healthy.Stud.
Calvin by himself almost guarantees no (or few) dud performances. He is simply uncoverable.Great first game back. Wow, that was an awesome performance.Albeit vs the Skins. If Stafford is on the waiver wire, get him now if you have the roster space. Next week will be too late
Stafford was throwing long-bomb passes in practice today
"He launched one just to let everybody know he’s still got it," said

there. I feel good."Source: Detroit Free Press"
