I had both CJ and Stafford going, and was loving every minute of it.

I was cringing every time he caught a pass. He just looks like an injury waiting to happen. He got dinged on his catch before the last TD. It looked like he got twisted a little funny. He sat out the next play and then came back in for the TD grab.
I'm looking forward to this week's matchup with the Jets. Countdown to the "Bench Calvin Johnson?" thread...
38 receptions, 538 yards, and 8 TDs in 7 games. Pretty outstanding numbers considering the heat he's taken on this board.

+1Plus I'm an Eagles fan... after the go ahead Stafford to CJ TD (#3 on the day) on 4th down I picked my 4 year old up over my head and ran him around the family room.

He's been awesome so far and is a TD machine.I had a late 1st rounder and debated going AJ-RB vs. RB-CJ and kept coming back to the fact that AJ had never had a monster TD season. I ended up getting lucky with how it worked out as Randy Moss slid a bit and I would have grabbed him over Calvin but he went a little before me.

I don't know that he's soft. He just takes longer to stand up because he's 6'5" tall. He's big target out there for Stafford and for opposing safeties.

I think the Jets will stick Cromartie on him. It will probably mute his production some. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a 3 for 50 type of game from him this week. It is a really really bad matchup for him specifically.

No. Make no mistake, Darrelle Revis is the team's top corner. On top of that, Cromartie is one of the least physical CBs in the NFL. He's great against speed and finesse guys like Moss and Burleson who he'll see next week, not so much against physical specimens like Brandon Marshall (and CJ). In the 1st half of yesterday's game Revis and Cromartie stuck to sides of the field. In the 2nd, Revis started shadowing Jennings and neutralized him for much of the 2nd half. Expect the same gameplan next week. Not sure about results.
There's something we're not supposed to do, I can't seem to remember what it is..Can. You. Help?

Johnson has missed only three games in his career and has played hurt more often than that. He is the most physically dominant WR in the game right now and he, like any of them, is going to take shots. His massive 6'5" frame means he may take a few more, but it also means he won't break quite as easily. At this point, posts like the above sound like what people were saying about SJax a few years back; my feelings then about him and now about Calvin are that they are studs (and the last two words of your post about sum up your perspective).

as ive been saying for the last year and a half and for the same reasons you cant worry about his production next week...he simply cant be matched up against with one guy...its literally not possible i dont care who the corner is ...calvin will get his as long as his team doesnt fail him. fitzgerald is going through the same type of thing this year...you cant drop him in your dynasty rankings, you just cant simply because of there unbelievable talent. dynasty rankings go

Sweet! I have Stafford, Calvin, and LeGarrette Blount all 3 on the same team. According to my reading this morning, I should be a shoe in. I might try to convince the rest of the owners to not even play out the rest of the games.
The AC joint in Calvin Johnson's shoulder is still causing him major discomfort and he had to leave the game on three separate occasions Sunday.
You wouldn't know Calvin was hurt if you just watched the highlights of his three-touchdown day against the Redskins. He is dragging receivers to the end zone and sticking his neck into traffic consistently. Johnson may miss some practice time this week, but he'll be good to go for a showdown with the Jets' elite secondary in Week 9. Megatron has seven touchdowns in his last four games.
Thought the bye week would of helped heal the shoulder. Oh well. looks like we need to get used to seeing him on the injury report.

Roddy is an elite WR. He doesn't have to have freaky acrobatic skills to be elite.

i dont agree with your opinion ...he doesnt have enough potential for a season if he ever has a season like 1300-1500 and 11-13 then maybe ill change my mind

He had 11 TD's & 1150 yards last year & looks better this year. Let's see where he ends up later this year. Probably will have that many yards - TD's may be a tad short but you never know.

Wish I had gone with my gut and started Stafford over Rodgers. Would have loved to get the double dip. Still should win but would have loved the extra points.
