Star Wars Commander, like clash of clans with SW, now on android (1 Viewer)

As a rebel, I find that the black AT-ATs are able to shoot at my base and defenses from a distance and I can't shoot at them. Is there a way around this?
This is the exact opposite of what I find. My guy just strolls in as close as he can, does nothing and gets blasted by every turret imaginable
This has been the case for me as well. Particularly against rocket launchers, the freaking thing takes them out without a shot fired against it.

Hmm. That's a good point. Maybe I should try bringing a white one along with the AT-ST to a raid. Use the AT-AT to take the shields out and the AS-ST to clean it all up.

What is their preferred target? Almost all of these things walk until they're in range of said target. Knowing that is knowing how and where to deploy things imo.

Supposed to be shields. Mine will maybe take the first shield out while out of range, but then will walk right up to the next shield, like right on top of it before firing. By this time it is usually torn apart by rockets.

I ws raided this morning by one of those black mother####ers. He musta paid extra for the smart one because it literally took out both shields, all but one rocket launcher and a bunch of mortars. All from a distance where I didn't fire a shot at the ####### thing. It's AI like this that absolutely piss me off in this game. How hard is it to fix that?

I would pay for an extra smart one.

FYI, putting one of your shields in another corner wll totally screw with the ATAT's AI..

I saw it. You mean Rebel guys I think. You can't place them close to the shields, they lose their minds. Placed just out of range on a straight line they seem to work better.

Sage advice, all the ones that have had success against me have been placed at a distance and walked up to my base.
 
Just posted my biggest score yet. 148K in credits and 165K in Alloy.

Didn't even use air support. Another shield underway to 7

Put your shields deeper into the base and the AT-AT will walk right up to your turrets to get to the shields.

This game is losing steam with me.

When I get home it's pretty much Clash Of Clans, then Boom Beach, then Hay Day ( :bag: Supercell, just take all my money now), then maybe to SWC, if I don't go back to the first two. Hell, even FIFA 15:Ultimate Team is getting my time more than this game now.

I think I spend too much time on my iPad at night. Still, better than doing meth. Slightly cheaper.

Yup, 100% damage. In four hours I can upgrade. I'm going to spend it all and revenge if I can.

 
I had someone drop an AT-AT under my shields in my corner setup. And I had the shields WAY back so as to prevent that. Looks like it can be done anyways.

Who cares for the rebels? If I drop an AT-AT in the corner next to your shields, it will spin around and not even get a shot off before it's torn apart.

It was the black one. It took out all 3 of my shields and then I got stomped.

 
Whenever at AT-AT attacks me, it goes into stealth mode where it can't be targetted by turrets. Granted it spins around a lot doing nothing, but it stops long enough to take out all the turrets not firing at it from point blank range.

 
I'm at a point where I'm merely logging in to collect my resources and buy an upgrade whenever I have enough. I don't care if a builder sits idle.

I'll keep playing to remain near the top edge of bases just in case the game figures out how to make it super appealing like CoC.

LOL, I just logged in at lunch, maxed my resources, logged off. Probably won't log on until a droid frees up again in another day or so. I think my research lab will be free in 5 hours or so, might check in to kick off another one.

 
IF I play this game, what's the smart side to join?
Don't, go to FBG's4 and chill ;)

I'm on the rebel scum side, both have their good & bad but the overall AI of the game still blows. It's gotten better but has seemed to stall after the last update.

 
For those still playing:

Hotfixes 10/14/14
Increase wall health.
Walls now have 2000 health per level.

Base score updates.
Increases to base score for fleet commands, hero commands, and spaceports – to address matchmaking balance.

Replays should now load properly.
 
Guess I'll hold off. It's hard enough running a clan into the ground in coc.
It's nowhere near COC at this point. I will say it's fun sending Chewie or Han out on a raiding mission, but everything is so lopsided at this point and glitchy it's not having huge replay value.

Like I said earlier in the thread, I keep it in the rotation during COC downtime, but others (Boom Beach, FIFA15, HayDay) are getting more of my time.

 
Revenge seems to have been fixed. I kinda liked going after the same guy for resources over and over again. He kept all resources on the map edges unprotected.

 
They are adjusting the medal system, knew this was going to happen soon.

If all you're doing is looking at your base score, you're not looking at the whole picture.

There are actually three caps at work here:

  1. You cannot have more medals than 5x your base score. Any additional medals held (or gained) are simply lost.
  2. You cannot have more medals than 20x your number of successful attacks. Note that defenses are not counted in this calculation, and this is intentional! Any additional medals held or gained are lost.
  3. Your total medal contribution from successful defenses cannot exceed your medal contribution from successful attacks. However, additional medals that exceed this cap are not lost unless they exceeded one of the other two caps. Instead, they are "banked" and will count towards your total medal score as you win attacks.

The purpose of these changes is to reduce the impact of several serious bugs that happened over the first couple of months that the game was live. One of them led to a set of players (if you looked at the leaderboard anytime in the last month, you probably saw this) who had 0-10 attacks but thousands of successful defenses. When we made an adjustment to matchmaking a couple of weeks ago, the hundreds of thousands of cumulative medals those players held began to be widely distributed through the rest of the player base as they were attacked repeatedly and began to lose. This resulted in a huge glut of medals in the middle ranks (players from HQ 3 to 5), with players earning far more medals for each successful attack than we intended.

The changes today are about deflating many of the effects of the previous problems, as well as aligning rewards and incentives for the game towards actively attacking other players instead of "turtling" in your base and trying to just win defenses, often by offering easily claimed resources to encourage people to raid you but not crack your defensive core. (Many players are only interested in resources, not medals, and will happily throw away medals in situations like this.)
Boards are blowing up with people freaking out losing hundreds of medals for attacking.

Here's more info on the changes:

Commanders,As many of you have noticed, today we implemented some changes to medal counts in the game. I wanted to take a few moments to describe the changes, and how they may have affected your own medal counts.

First, some of you may be asking “Why are you changing the way medal counts work in the first place?”

To understand this, we need to go back to the early days of the game. When we first launched, we had a few problems with the way we were calculating player-vs-player matches, and medals. One of them led to players who had very few attacks, but thousands of successful defenses, getting a massive number of medals. (If you’ve looked at the top player leaderboards recently, you’ve probably seen them there.)

Then, a couple weeks ago, we made a few matchmaking changes that resulted in all of these medals being distributed throughout a large number of players that were roughly at Headquarters level 3 - 5. This wasn’t intended, and resulted in very significant medal inflation throughout the community for those players - an unfair and unintended advantage for the people in this group over everyone else.

This is why we needed to act, and make changes to the medal counts for these affected players.

So, what did we change?

The changes made today were about deflating many of the effects of the aforementioned problems, and aligning rewards and incentives in the game toward actively attacking players, instead of “turtling” and just trying to win easy defenses.

We did this by implementing 3 rules, or “caps,” to how medals work. These rules will govern how medals are awarded going forward, and we also re-calculated everyone’s medal counts using these rules.

The rules are as follows:

  1. You cannot have a medal count higher than than 5x your base score. Once you have reached this limit, any additional medals won will not be credited to your account. (To earn more medals, you can upgrade your base to get a higher base score.)
  2. You cannot have a medal count higher than 20x your number of successful attacks. Note that defenses are not counted in this calculation, and this is intentional! As in #1 above, once you have reached this limit, any additional medals won will not be credited to your account.
  3. Your total medal contribution from successful defenses cannot exceed your medal contribution from successful attacks. However, additional medals that exceed this cap are not lost unless they exceeded one of the other two caps. Instead, they are "banked" and will be added to your total medal score as you win attacks in the future.
These changes took effect around 6:00pm PST tonight (Wednesday October 15th, 2014.)

We are confident that these changes will result in much more balanced, and more equitable, leaderboards in the game - something we take very seriously (and we know you do too!)

I want to thank all of you for your patience as we worked through these changes. I know that this update caught some of you by surprise, particularly with the size and scope of the impact, and we could have done a better job communicating it in advance. We’re listening, and will work to be more transparent with upcoming changes in the future.

Son of a *****! I spent the last 4 days slowly building up 750k gold so I could upgrade to level 7 HQ......but it doesn't require GOLD!!! It needs alloy.....*sigh*
