Starting both Portis and Betts, Atleast until Portis gets in Shape (1 Viewer)

I see a similar RBBC between the 2 Backs (15 - 20 for CP/ 10 - 15 for LB) atleast until mid-season. If Washington is smart, they will keep CP healthy and fresh. With LB getting about 15 carries a game... he makes for a decent #3; and after all the injuries this weekend some teams maynot have a better option.

Anyone else with me here.

Betts will get work, but he will get no TDs. The one really significant move I saw in that game in the RB rotation was that on Betts' best drive, Portis came in when they were on the five yard line. The Skins didn't get in, but it sure looked to me like they think Portis is better in the red zone.

It all depends on your total back situation, of course, but Bett's ceiling is probably 70-80 total yards, with little chance of scoring (IMHO).

If Betts is your 2nd best back or best option as a flex I would think your team is in trouble. I gotta believe you have someone more likely to see fantasy points on your roster.

Yes... my team is in trouble... My personal Back Line up right now is Portis / Norwood / Betts.I wouldn't Mind 60 yds and a couple of recs from Betts... get me about 8 too 9 pts

I read that Norwood will get increased carries starting THIS week, so I'd start Portis and Norwood if I were you (assuming you don't have to start 3 RBs)

I see the Skins backfield shaking out like last year when both were playing.

Betts in for the majority of pass plays to the RB & 3rd & longs.

Betts in for the 4th quarter when the Skins have at least a 10 point lead.

Betts to periodically spell Portis.

Betts will not see 50% of the carries again this season barring injury. The 50-50 split was only because Portis has been out all pre-season. Expect an 80-20 split from here on out and only use Betts out of complete desparation.

Thanks... I don't want to make this just about my personal situation since this is a Shark Pool thread...I want to hear from owners that have CP & LB. For me; they combined for 30 pts in week 1. In a deep 14 team league that makes me to start 3 WRs / 2 RBs / 1 flex; I'll take 30 combine pts from the 2 of them every week. I don't care if its CP getting 15 & LB getting 15 or CP get 25 and LB gets 5... I'll take the constient 30.

I don't see this; not yet anyway... They will hopefully keep CP fresh until they need to make a playoff push.

I don't think it will be quite as high as 80% (my guess is closer to 70%), but Portis should get the majority, and sooner rather than later. They are a better team when he is in the game.

It's not really a question at this point, is it? After missing every snap of pre-season, Portis had exactly the same # of carries as Betts and far, far outperformed him.

As a result, the percentage of carries going to Portis is only going to increase as his conditioning improves, and I have to think he'll end up about 75 percent of the carries, with Betts getting one series per quarter as the featured back, and regulard 3rd down duty.

First of all, I think barring injury that's about as much of a pro-Betts carry distribution as you're going to see. Portis will only get more as the season goes on. It looked to me like he was not 100% in game shape - no surprise given that he didn't play in any games during the preseason and was limited in his drills until last week to rest the knee as much as possible.

Second, Betts isn't a bad play as a RB2 if you're in a PPR league and are otherwise weak at RB, but don't expect him to get a TD. With Portis healthy all year, I'd only expect 3-4 TD's out of Betts, tops. Betts only got 4 rushing TD's despite tearing it up over the last half of the season anyway.
