Starting Deangelo Williams! (1 Viewer)

I think I am gonna try and start DWILL this week. Aaron Kampman is out. Matt Roth is questionable, and Jeff Otah is coming back after having a concussion. Think I am either gonna flex him with Ingram or start him over Ingram. Hou LBs are all healthy. Thoughts? At WR I am going with Holmes, and DNelson. Now granted I have some great wr options. They are just against some tuff matchups. SMoss, Newman full practice and playing (Though WAS is rolling and its a division rival) Lloyd vs Finegan, Denarius Moore vs Jets, Nate Burleson vs Minn and himself really dissapointed in him right now. 9 pts last week with all that went on the board?

I'll be benching D Williams in favor of D Thomas. I've had Williams in my lineup through the first 2 weeks this year, and last year till he got hurt - all without one good performance. It's time for him to put up some stats before I'll go back to him.

Starting him as well. But when your alternatives are Felix Jones, DeMarco Murray, Jonathan Stewart, and Reggie Bush, it kind of forces your hand. He's got to turn it around *sometime*, right?

I'm starting him also. Not due to liking it but due to injuries/bad team. Eventually teams are going to have to start trying to force Carolina to run, why not this week?

starting him as well, but with this crop of RB's what else do you start? Felix, Ringer, Carter and Jacobs....not asking, just saying.

I'm starting him too. It's a coin flip anyway. My other choices are R. Bush, Ingram, P. Thomas. :X Hoping he breaks out today with a TD and give me an opportunity to sell at some reasonable discount.

I'm also a Beanie owner who is worried about the hammy situation (i.e. him aggravating it in-game), but I still can't get myself to start DWill. It'd be different he had actually gotten touches the first 2 weeks, but his total irrelevancy in the Panthers offense I just can't stomach

Starting him instead of James Starks. If he doesn't produce this week DWill rides the bench until he proves otherwise.

Anyone think he is safe to start over Ingram? Also should I start Ingram over Burleson, DMoore, BLloyd, or SMoss? Non ppr 100 yard and long TD lg.

can't believe everyone wants a good game just so they can get rid of him...sCam has started out great, especially for a rookie QB and I think going forward that can only help the Panther running game. Teams are going to have to start paying attention to Newton and running lanes will open...but more importantly, Cam has thrown for a ton of yards and the Panthers are 0-2. The gameplan for the past 2 weeks hasn't worked, sure Newton has had good numbers and teams have seen that he is somewhat legit, but they've LOST both games. One would think a re-structured gameplan could be coming with a more balanced attack to include DeAngelo and the running game that will also help keep that DEF off the field. He's still going to produce numbers that you drafted him to get...why trade him off for next to nothing.

Agreed - expect more focus on the running game, but the other major issue is that DWill still also has to share carries with Stewart.

dunno that leaning on a 2.5ypc rushing attack is gunna yield a better chance to win

Way to reply but totally ignore everything he said.

Starting over Jacobs
madness, phi has been getting torched on the ground, up the gut esp.fwiw, im starting mike thomas over deangelo in ppr but realize that may be going a bit too far.
'madness'? What has Jacobs ever done to make you think he's going to get more than a handful of carries and maybe 50 yards rushing? Bradshaw is the RB stud in New York.I'd start DWill of Jacobs without a second thought.

they arent losing bc of the passing game, its about the most absurd conclusion you can draw. the passing game is making them far more competitive than anyone thought they would be and keeping them in games in spite of an abysmal ground attack.

jacobs has 22 carries this year. he had 9 per game last year. so thats what leads me to think he's "going to get more than a handful of carries." dwill, fwiw, has 17 carries this year, 12 of which came in game one, and his snap count was slashed in game 2.

I'm starting Starks and Ingram over D. Will this week. However, I have no intentions of trading him. I'm gonna be patient.

I believe. His talent will eventually win out. Expecting him to approach 20 touches and 100 total yards in this game.

New guy here but long time lurker/reader.

I was reading through this thread and I'm having a hard time not starting Stewart over D Willy considering DeAng hasn't had one red zone carry and Stewart was in the game every time I was watching it last week, especially when it counted late in the game. Stewart is just simply outproducing him right now.

Thoughts on Stewart vs. DeAng for flex?

Starting him over Beanie and his ouchie hammie.
I'll be trying that too.
Have the same choice, Beanie or DWill. I also have Lynch and am strongly considering benching DWill, waiting for the afternoon game and plug in Lynch if Beanie looks wobbly or can't go. At least i know Lynch should get 15+ touches What other options do you have? Frankly speaking I have absolutely no clue if DWill will get 5 meaningless touches today as last week or if the Riverea "brain trust" finally decides to use their $21 million man.

I have this option as well. Just not sure CAR will have to play catch up today as they did last week. If not, they may not have to use JStew in the passing game as much. CAR could turn to more of a grinding ground game in the 2nd half - which woud seem to favor DWill. Am I misreading the tea leaves on this?
