Statkeepers (1 Viewer)

I know in the past there were some stadiums that had statkeepers that were generous with things like Assisted Tackles or Passes Defensed. (Specifically, I recall Philadelphia being friendly to PD calls giving an abundance.) Do we know if there are any of those trends going on in the NFL this year that we can exploit?

Yes, Jene had a very nice summary of this in the weekly subscriber content.

The Colts home statkeeper has given 212 assists through 3 home games while the Rams scorekeeper has only given 12.

Angerer is getting 7/8 assists per game at home.

We discussed them on the Roundtable podcast last week, too. There are a few very obvious outliers. Indianapolis is pure craziness right now and St. Louis may as well not have an assisted tackle button. There are a few others well outside a normal standard deviation (albeit with only 2-3 games of sample size) and there are some interesting home/visitor splits, too. The bulk of the spreadsheet work is being done by Larry Thomas, though, so I'm a little reluctant to post all of the trends outside of the subscriber pages and under my name.Sad that there's such a significant difference, though. There's little question that it's not easy to score tackles live from up in the press box, but it continues to be disappointing that the lack of uniformity in defensive stats is excused because they're "unofficial."
