STEELER - SAINTS discussion. Sunday's HOF Game. (1 Viewer)

Bet the under

Since the inception of the hall of fame game in 1962 the combined score has gone "over" the line only 8 times,8 times in 46 years!

Bet the under

The thing I do like about preseason is that I don't care at all about who wins, even when the Steelers are playing.

I am looking forward to Sunday night because I think Tomlin has a lot to show me this preseason. I need to see him on the sidelines, coaching.

I also echo the no injuries post.

Good info. I don't have statistical evidence but I'd bet on the Steelers as well. They've been in a camp a little longer than the Saints and it's been a grueling camp which to me means they are looking to hit someone else. I also like the fact a new coach in Tomlin wants to get the W even if it is preseason. So the Steelers and the under and you can start the new year with a win.

Some things I'm curious and/or eager to see, win or lose for the Steelers:

I want to see Lamar Woodley pancake someone like we've been reading about.

I want to see Willie Reid in action. His early injury last preseason means he's still pretty unknown to most Steelers fans.

I want to see this Sepultura guy punt. It's unreal how much gushing a punter can generate.

Some other things I want to see, but doubt we will because we won't get past the vanilla flavored schemes:

See how Roeth does commanding the no-huddle

See how they're going to move Keisel around as a rover on D.

:lmao: :banned:  I'm just psyched we got football in 4 days.

Is DTV going to put this on the HD Channel?

Channel 94? 96? Whatever that temp HD channel is.

Edit: My programming guide has it on channel 94 at 8pm tomorrow. Hope thats the case! :banned:

Steelers will probably lose, but it doesn't really mean anything. What means everything is how well the young guys respond to the new system. Also a glimpse of the Steeler offense and a defense should reveal a lot, even though they'll be showing everybody a watered down version.

If you have comcast cable, call them and ask for the NFL network. I used to have it and called to find out what the deal was. The lady on the other line told me that they would offer it to me for free for 6 months. This will take you through all of the season and then some. Just don't call and say I'd like to order it. Tell them your disappointment in them not carrying it without paying for it. Enjoy folks!

good advice...she would only give it to me on the new sports tier for 1.99/mo so I complained and mentioned Verizon and Direct TV...so she knocked my Internet costs in 1/2 for a year too...sweet!

I'll be interested to see how the Steelers line up on first down with the first team offense. Will we see any of those spread packages or will Arians save those for later? Also curious to see if there will be any multiple TE packages. And I'm looking forward to seeing what Willie Reid's got on special teams and on offense.

Also curious to see Keisel and Woodley on defense, and see the first round in the Ryan Clark/Anthony Smith safety showdown.

I am sure it will be on at your local sports bar if you do not have cable. Call some friends and go watch the game out at the bar.

is there seriously a line offered on pre-season games? and there has been for 46 years? i had no idea.

:lmao: :lmao: :bag: :bag:

Yes, I know its only preseason. But its the mark that football is back!!!!! Wish I could see some Willie tonight, but Im looking forward more to how Ben looks out there. Also looking to see if Woodley is the real deal.

Hopefully Devery Henderson doesn't catch one of his patented long bombs tonight. I want him to stay in the 9th-10th round safe and sound.
is your draft soon? I'm betting that his ADP rises significantly in the next few weeks . . .
Bite your tongue. Terrance Copper is the up and comer. The Saints drafted Robert Meachem for a reason. At least that's what I want people to keep on thinking. As long as Henderson doesn't catch a bomb he should stay in place.

While I agree it will be a low-scoring game, you should never gamble on a pre-season game...

Is there any way we can watch this on the computer?

ETA: Nevermind, I found a link :-)

I can't believe it is about to start. Somebody pinch me (preferably #3 from Otis' FFA NY Chic thread!)...this is AWESOME!

Also, as an aside, I LOVED that Michael Irvin interview they just did. I like the guy and will miss him on ESPN - please don't make me listen to Tom Jackson and Boomer anymore!! At least now I have NFL Network which I didn't have until week 16 last year!

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports Deuce McAllister will not play in Sunday's Hall of Fame Game.Impact: McAllister has been practicing at camp but continues to recover from minor offseason knee surgery. The Saints will take it easy on him, likely for the duration of the preseason. We should see a lot of Antonio Pittman.

Wow only 3 minutes in and I already can't stand Gumbel and Collingsworth. NFL Network will also be a #4 with those guys on the mic.

Is it just me or did Bryant Gumbel's head shrink over the offseason? Hasn't lost his voice though

Cheers for the first (preseason) game of 2007!
