Steelers-Ravens Game thread (1 Viewer)

I have no idea how that's not a penalty, they legit laid down and prevented the Ravens players form getting up. That's all kinds of BS.

Harbaugh LITERALLY told the refs to watch for that and they still didn't call anything.
Because it was a pile up with 10 players.  At the goal line.  That was an idiotic play call in that situation with no timeouts remaining, that that's the exact reason why you simply can't call a run there with no timeouts.  Also, there was ZERO sense of urgency by any singular player on the Ravens offense to get people cleared from the pile and/or lined up for the next play.  Harbaugh deserved that one.

Vintage RGIII right there, checks the defense and decides to take a timeout. Don't you let them rush you Robert, you take your time buddy.

Really bad clock management there.   Shouldn't have burnt that TO after 1st down run.
That's how they were both used towards the end of the 1st Half, cost the Ravens at least 3 points and likely 6.

Still think that Hill might have had the TD and had he not hit his own guy the Refs could have seen it clearer. It looked like he broke the plain.

I had posted that it would be a terrible play call for that exact reason before it even happened.

Stunning that Harbaugh missed that possibility. I'm actually surprised because he seems really attuned to that in general.

This game is a painful watch. But hey, it’s Wed afternoon NFL so I’ll take it.

Surprised the Steelers aren’t taking it to this JV ravens squad though.

Goodell: “We believe our protocols are working.”

You’re literally talking at the halftime of a regular season game at 5 on on a Wednesday.
If you just assume that he's the ooziest and unctuous of politicians it goes down better.

But your post made me laugh in the way that I want to cry.

He'll say anything for a million. Sad state we're in when we respect these sort of institutions.

I don't like that call.... Humphrey didn't look back, but Claypool looked to grab 1st.

No need to be upset, Patrick. It's fourth down and your back was turned to the line of scrimmage. You're better off not picking it.

Queen, I love you kid, but it's way better you didn't catch that ball

Steelers so ripe to be beaten today but I don't know if the Ravens have it in them. Getting zero before the half could loom large

It always confuses me that defenders don't realize it's usually better to not intercept the ball on 4th down.

The dude had Steelers around him that would have tackled him and given them worse field position, but was so mad at himself.

Baltimore holds Pitt to a FG with about 4:30 to go in the 2nd, they don't score but hold the ball to close out the 1st, give their Defense which has held the Steelers' Offense to just 6 points, gives them a nice breather plus the Halftime. They come out and hold Pittsburgh on a 4th Down, the Offense for Baltimore must come away with points here. Even a FG.

Contract stats, unfortunately.

Gus Edwards missed a lot of yards on that 7 yd gain, it looked like he had a lot of real estate to his left if he could have stayed balanced.

LOL, RG3 stands tall in the pocket, takes a huge hit while throwing the ball 20 yards off target and results in Ravens biggest passing play of the day with the flag

Hollywood.

I still think it was a waste of a first-rounder. Was anybody else going to take a 5'9" 160 lb. wideout that early?  I dunno. The Ravens do such a good job drafting usually, but that might be a bust of a pick.

their record of drafting WRs is a desolate wasteland in stark contrast to the rest of their history. Hollywood, Breshard Perriman, Mark Clayton, Travis Taylor all in the first round. The list goes on and on in later rounds

Strange choice by Ben there, especially with McFarland singled up on Queen (who can't cover yet)

Pittsburgh needs to try a double move and they will have big success with the way the Ravens are jumping the short routes

Boy that's a back-breaking penalty. Had a good return, now they get it at the 15-ish.

As someone who has watched thousands of NFL football games in my life, if the Steelers don't take a shot on a double move during this drive, I don't know what's happening
