I just heard that the Steelers have signed linebacker Chad Brown today. Looking for a link...

The sushi probably got a lot more attractive when he was standing in the NFL unemployment line. ;)

Or perhaps he's no longer married. Rumor back in the day was that his wife told him that she was moving to Seattle, with or without him, for said sushi.

With the Porter in question and Harrison already out this ain't a big surprise. I didn't realize he'd been cut by the Pats.

He'd be a good fillin for a bit but not sure he's a fulltime player anymore. They may need to keep looking if they need a 'backer to play all 4 quarters.

If Greg Lloyd with quit shooting his kid and Kevin Green's mullet didn't get caught in a weedwacker, WE'RE IN BUSINESS. BRING EM ALL BACK. :pickle:

Steelers sign Chad Brown for help at OLB

Thursday, October 12, 2006

By Gerry Dulac, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The Steelers have brought back one of their former linebackers, Chad Brown, to help ease the injury situation at outside linebacker.

Brown, who played with the Steelers from 1993 to 1996, was signed today after Pro Bowl linebacker Joey Porter injured his hamstring in practice Tuesday and was listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Porter's backup, James Harrison, has already been ruled out of the Chiefs game because of a high ankle sprained sustained in Sunday night's loss in San Diego.

That left Arnold Harrison, a first-year free agent, as the starter at right outside linebacker.

Brown, 36, was released Sept. 1 by the New England Patriots in the final cut of training camp. To make room for Brown on the 53-man roster, the Steelers released tight end Tim Euhus.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

You do realize that Brown was a Steeler before he was a Patriot, right?
