Someone else posted something about players that had exactly what Diggs had as a rookie season. The list of people that hit his rookie numbers is pretty impressive, although I would certainly not evaluate him the same as guys like Harrison and Fitzgerald. So they had to match him in every category? Someone that had 51-1200-20 wouldn't make the list of "did as well as Diggs? That makes the list even less impressive to me. I'm not even sure what the list is in that case. It's certainly not a list of guys that matched or had better rookie seasons than Diggs. Evans had a significantly better rookie season.
it's a bit like having a list of guys that had 700 yards receiving and were born on a Thursday before noon in the months of March-July.
Like any comparison, the selection of numbers is arbitrary. If our baseline is rookies that had 90-1200-8 then Diggs would not even be a blip on the radar. I am not trying to make him into something that he is not. I personally don't have him rated very high for this upcoming year, as I see the body of work in the last 3/4 of the season more like his expected baseline than what he did for the first few games when he was mostly an unknown for teams to deal with.
