Stevan Ridley Support Group (1 Viewer)

Wow, didn't see the game but had him starting in my flex spot.

Glad Moreno worked out for me but concerned...Ridley needs to be somewhat productive for me.

For me the last straw was watching Vereen take over and run three straight times from inside the 10 last week. So now add lack of significant GL carries to very little in the receiving game and fumbling risk.

He's still got talent but at this point barring injuries to others I can no longer stomach the inconsistency and chance he could get pulled at any point in the game based on BB's and McDaniel's whims.

Vereen has proven he will miss time. Wonder what happens then. Also when they play with a lead I think ridley will get more involved. He's not startable right now but is a definite hold to see what happens

I should add that I also think he is worth holding and not someone who needs to be dropped right away. I just waited to draft QB and needed to sure up that position before locker goes off against Dallas this week.

25/101 and a TD. He looks like a borderline RB2 again but he's going to be frustrating to own.

Zero fumbles is the key stat.

footballguys.com projections for Ridley were right on target this week, weren't they? I had Stevan benched. And Jeremy Hill, too----another one off their radar.

Good thing you had them projected correctly. Link to your projections on your FF website?

So if you can accurately predict the game state you'll be able to accurately predict the backfield dynamic from week to week. If you're that good though, maybe you should just bet on the game instead.

Am not sure what you're asking following the sarcastic observation. The customized FBG, based on my league's rules (which is what makes it customized, right?) had Ridley with 7.3 points this week, and 38th among RBs. They rated my roster members Ryan Matthews, Reggie Bush, Matt Forte, and Justin Forsett considerably higher. And Hill's projected point total was 5. Am not sure if Matthews is able to walk tonight or if anyone actually spotted Bush in a Detroit uniform for the Carolina game I realize: a.) I must make my own decisions about lineups; b.) Belicheck is a fickle coach when it comes to PT; and c.) FBG's projections represent educated guesswork subscribers pay for, sometimes figuratively. But I believe they aren't thin-skinned about missing the mark after many years of operation.

How about you? Think they are concerned?

The state the game was played in was easy to predict. It's been advertised since the NFL schedule came out.

FBG also had Forte as either the top rated or second rated RB this week with 16 points in that customized system. With 12 carries and 21 yards to complement 15 yards receiving, they missed the mark. Brandon Marshall, conversely, had an amazing game.

Maybe that 16 point game projection was meant for Ridley. Hate to tackle the weekly player prediction gig. Let the staff deal with that hassle. Just maybe a little better.

Anyone else rolling with him this weekend against the lowly Raiders?
Maybe @ flex. Depends on the vibes I get about Roddy for Thurs night. If there is a week to give Ridley a shot, this is it.
Couldn't ask for a better matchup - Raiders gave up 170 yards rushing to CJ/Ivory and 178 yards to Foster/Blue.

RB's haven't been doing much in the passing game (7 total RB catches) against them either, which bodes well for Ridley.

Vegas thinks this is going to be a blowout, NE is -14. Honestly, I'd start Ridley with confidence. Save a fumble, he should see a ton of work.

Rolling with Ridley in 2 leagues. Perfect matchup just when so,e of us needed it with injuries piling up.

Best game of the year to roll him out there

We all know that when it comes to Ridley, this means that he will end up with 6/29/0, right? I guess that I will go with him, but I am prepared for disappointment.

Exactly, this has the makings of a classic let down. Easy matchup, very good pefromance week before, home game etc. Now watch Ridley fumble early, or Bolden get the touches or vereen get used exclusively again.

It's so tough to start him and feel good about it. I own him in a few leagues and starting him in every one but I have very low expectations.

Just when you think Ridley has a golden matchup the hoodie throws a twist in things. I could see him giving the ball to Bolden and White more this game, just to piss Ridley owners off in this great matchup with the Raiders.

Have to start two between Ridley, Vereen, and Martin this week. Can't really trust Martin until he puts together a solid game. Probably rolling with Ridley and Vereen.

Are you? Hmm. I have those guys along with Rainey. Thinking about Rainey and Ridley. Tough call, though.

Ridley is just so damn frustrating. And all the high rankings and expectations for this week make me feel like I'll be disappointed no matter what happens. He's just so hit or miss, and I feel like this week could be a huge letdown.

It's like that line in Seinfeld when George says, "It was the same look my father gave me when I told him I wanted to be a ventriloquist." I can almost feel that look coming on already....

Total points league, gamble on greatness pick. Skins will be throwing a ton to keep up with Philly. Just the opposite in NE.

Stevan Ridley - RB - Patriots

ESPN Boston admits it's "tough to tell" which running back will lead the way in Sunday's game against the Raiders.

This should be a perfect spot for the Patriots to ground-n-pound with big back Stevan Ridley. But Bill Belichick often zigs when everyone assumes he'll zag, leaving a little risk in both Ridley and Shane Vereen. Beat writer Mike Reiss does note that the Patriots "like their chances" to run against a Raiders team that has already given up 100-yard games to Chris Ivory and Arian Foster this season. In theory, there's enough room for both of the Patriots' backs to eat.
