Out of the playoffs in my dynasty league, I am currently assessing my roster. One of those players is Steve Slaton.

He had a great rookie year, then had a bad case of the fumbles in year 2 followed by a neck injury. This year he has fallen behind Derrick Ward as the backup to Arian Foster.

I am reluctant to cut him from my team because I think if he can land a starting job he can still be very effective running and catching the ball.

Does anyone know his contract status? Is there any chance he crawls out of Kubiak's dog house?

Dare I say it, I think there's a chance he gets cut next year despite being cheap. He might be the 4th best RB on the team if Ben Tate returns to full health and he hasn't been very good on special teams.

I think next year is the final year of his deal and is not that expensive (half a million or so). Not sure if his role will be much different next year, but there is a possibility Kubiak could be let go, which could affect Slaton's role.

Oh yeah, Ben Tate.

I think that is the best thing for him next year, getting cut. I think he can still be a starter, or at least a heavy contributor in the NFL.

Just trying to figure out who to cut for speculative picks before our rosters freeze after Week 17.

The neck injury is killer. I would be prepared to cut him depending on the rest of your roster.

The answer on what to do with him for dynasty depends on roster size. I have him on a zealots team so if he makes my top 40 guys he will be protected. I think he may make that and hang onto my roster for another year. He is a RB probably in that RB50-RB60 range for dynasty purposes though and if you have limited roster sizes could be droppable.

Guy is worthless. He's got a fused neck and got beat out by Derrick Freakin Ward and he was overrated to begin with. Move on.
