We know Smith is suspended for 2 games, and had a concussion, and leg ailment in the preseason, but out of nowhere last week he stated he had a shoulder "injury" that could need surgery at the end of the year. He stated it wouldn't keep him out, but as an owner I'm concerned. I was totally unaware of an issue. Is this a labrum deal like with Ocho Cinco? Any info or insight would be greatly appreciated....thanks

When he made that diving attempt at the long pass in the preseason game vs. Wash, I suspected something could be wrong. But you gotta question the intelligence of S.Smith. Why in the hell are you diving for a pass in preseason?

He is fierce competitor, and whether a game is preseason or regular season, he wants to win. It was also the last game he would be playing in for 3 weeks, so I'm sure he wanted to make the most of it. As for the OP, I wouldn't worry about it. He did come down really hard on his shoulder on that play vs Washington, but went back in the game and had two TD's. As Smith said if the pain continues, he will play through it. There really hasn't been much said about it.

This is something to worry about. The play happened at the very beginning of the Washington pre-season game a few weeks ago. I was at the game and was checking out the sidelines with the binoculars, but within a series, Steve was back on the field and had several games including a nice TD that Jake audibled at the line as Steve and single man coverage and the quick flip turned into a 30 yd TD. He played into the 3rd quarter and don't even think he is on the injury report. He is not playing with the team, nor practicing, so he should not get hurt in practice and should be ready to go for the Minny game on 9/21.

No issues here... Steve is just fine.

Um...his arm had to be surgically reattached as it fell off where the arm meets the shoulder.

I'd underestimate Carolina all year as they only have one offensive player on the team.

Fixed. I think you unintentionally left out the NOT.
