Steve Smith owners what are you doing today? (1 Viewer)

I have 3 tough decision in 3 PPR leagues.

A) start Smith, Santana Moss at Bucs, or Walker at Bears (assuming he plays, is he healthy, will he get limited reps?)

B) start Smith or Santana Moss at Bucs

C) start Smith, Gore at Cards, L.White at Bengals, or Santana Moss at Bucs

I just can't stomach another day of Steve Smith being killed by Carr, but am always scared to leave Smith on the bench, especially against a bad D that he's torched over the last several years.

What are you guys doing?!?

One league only other option is Lee Evans so smith stays in

But in another I have DJ Hackett and Chris Henry... not sure but I think I am going to roll with Smith still

I don't have a choice so he is in there for me :goodposting:

My alternative is Joe J.

Considering I have all but wrapped up my division, I am gambling with Smith. I'll just hope he can take one of the 3 passes Carr actually manages to get to him for a TD.

my choice, if i don't start smith, are either toomer or brown. there's no way i'd start brown against the pats with aj at qb -- so that leaves me with toomer. minny has a terrible pass defense, but how often will toomer be targeted? burress is starting. of course, the g'ints are down to droughns at rb. think i have to go with toomer -- carr just doesn't target smith.

Steve Smith owner here...

I benched him for Henry because Henry is a sure thing... However in this game I would expect thid as a boom bust game for Smith. He will either have 2-3 recp for 40 yards (.2 TDs) or 8 rec 130 yards .8 TDs.

It depends how much pressure carr gets, if the saints go after him smith is worthless... Saints on paper look bad but I would bet the saints come after carr big time... I say avoid...

just benched smith but I was only playing him orginally because Housh was hurt earlier in the week. Now I am going with Housh, Evans and Hackett...might be ok

Galloway in for me, sitting Smith. Carr was enough for me, but it looks like there will less than optimum passing conditions in Carolina anyway, so that sealed the deal - Smitty, have a seat.

I can't remember in the history of our fantasy football league (13 years) when a perfectly healthy receiver who was drafted #1 WR overall didn't even get in the lineup in our 3WR start league. Frustrating beyond belief.

Going with Joe J. in a shootout. Can't move myself to start Smith with Carr back there.

Benched him in both leagues for Nate Washington and Brandon Marshall. If Carr throws him 3 tds, so be it. I'll be in disbelief but I'll feel better knowing I used the right reasons for benching Smith.

That being, Carr sucks, Carr sucks and Carr sucks.

Good luck to all those starting him.

0 for 7 already..... BUST...

I love SS. He gets the most out of every chance that he has had today. Carr is FINALLY looking for him, but making terrible throws.
I know Carr can't throw the ball more than 10 yards without a 20-yard running start and a strong breeze, but why don't they throw more short passes to Smith? Treat him like Reggie Bush if you need to, but get the ball in his hands and let him do his thinh.

Crying. Why couldn't they prop Vinny up back there. It would have been a better option! Hey I have Lee Evans going too.....oh that didn't work out either. Hey Cincy put up 35 points my 3rd WR Hous should have come through.....well ok bad day for my WR's.

S. Smith and R. Williams will remain on my bench in favor of G. Jennings and H. Ward for the remainder for the season. The most amazing thing is that they are not benched for injury, just ineffectcive QB play. It is truly sad the impact from Kitna and Carr. Smith is arguably the most dangerous WR in the league, but without a competent QB, he has become a margnial FF option.

Don't cry.... TJ will be back with a vengence very soon...

Just goes to show how bad Carr is, no? I'd be going with the young guy, or hell, I'd play Smith at QB over Carr. Let him run around, Hand off, dump some passes off...

I'm trying to trade Reggie Brown and Anthony Gonzalez for Steve Smith. I have awesome wr's so he's just sit on my bench while I hoped he came back to life.
