Steve Smith's Tough Matchup (1 Viewer)

Maybe I'll get rolled for this thread, maybe not, either way I feel its an honest argument/post.

Steve Smith has been severely limited due to Weinke's ineffective play at QB in Delhomme's absence and the not so shocking report has Delhomme downgraded to doubtful this week. Smith would have a decent matchup this week against Atl if not for his QB. I have already made up my mind with what to do with Mr. Smith on my fantasy team (who cares), but was curious what other's thoughts were?

Do you go by the play your studs rule on this one or shying away towards matchups?

sorry, but i don't agree with this -- it IS a great matchup against the ATL #30 pass D, but do not underestimate how terrible weinke is. can't throw downfield, utterly immobile so if there's a hint of pressure in the pocket, the wr's have to break off their routes, everything's short short short. and even though smith's the type of guy who can take a 5-yd slant 70-yds to the house, the four guys draped all over him at all times say otherwise.smith has been neutered since this bum took over and i don't expect it to change even against the falcons. alllll that said, you simply can't bench him. age-old fantasy conundrum...

What's with the Weinke bashing? He's 6.7 YPA and Delhomme was 6.4. Weinke did against Pitt what Delhomme did againt Cleveland.

I might have a problem with the Drew Carter blowup but he's doubtful. I would play Smith with confidence.

i have no confidence in weinke, but ive come too far with smith to bench him now (semi finals) I have some other decent options(edwards, cotchery) but im gonna stick with the stud.

Still, I'd kill myself if I benched Steve Smith against the Falcons and he went off for 3 TDs or something.
